Came here worried there was a problem between the fan bases.  Glad it is just a show and for fun and entertainment.  I want the Gaga and Ariana fanbases to be one with each other.:heart:

The Gaga team had me covering my eyes and ears tbh, I was legit sat here like “that is not Gaga, this is insulting”. The Freddie that just won was INCREDIBLE!!

Yeah, it's hard to do Gaga justice.  Years ago I went to a Legends in Concert show in Myrtle Beach.   The person imitating Gaga kept hamming up the endings to the songs like Gaga never does.   After the shows the people imitating the artists went to the lobby so fans could get their photo taken with their favorite artists.  I steered clear of the Gaga imitator and had my photo taken with the Steven Tyler imitator.  Gaga is my favorite artist, but I thought the way the imitator ended the songs was, as you say, insulting.

I suppose as diehard fans we judge way harder because we know Gagas stage persona so well, they were over exaggerating the creepy factor from Bad Romance, it kinda just felt like we’d been transferred back to 2009 when people though Gaga was weird and that to me was insulting because I never deemed Gaga as weird but it’s the way it came across in the performance, it’s like they completely misunderstand what Gaga is about.

Exactly.  It was mostly the gp who thought she was weird.  They didn't understand her determination to help people and crazyGa was one of the tools she used to change peoples' lives.  In those days when interviewers on many shows asked her about her weird dress and actions she explained it to each interviewer in almost the same words every time.  That way, if the gp watched any of those shows they would understand.  She felt for the crazyGa persona to work in helping people she had to stay in that character at all times.  She helped so many people that way and even saved lives.  Her hugs are another way she helped people who were emotionally downtrodden and felt unloved.  Her hugs lifted them up and made them know they were loved, thereby changing their world.  She literally changed the world one person at a time.  And, of course, some of her music is for the same purpose.  She is an amazing person the gp will never know.  Nowadays she finds ways to help people without the weird persona.  Years ago I explained all this in a video I made for a cinema class I was taking:
