LateToCult 41,975
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles issued a heat advisory through Sunday evening, with unseasonably hot temperatures in the upper 80s expected throughout much of Southern California. That includes Inglewood, Calif., where the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals will face off in SoFi Stadium this Sunday. “We thought maybe we’d be talking about a winter storm or something that might impact the game,” said Eric Boldt, a warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Los Angeles and Oxnard. “Instead we’re talking about a heat wave.” It is possible the temperatures could break record highs in Southern California and the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys through Sunday, the National Weather Service said. The advisory Wednesday warned of temperatures as hot as 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the Los Angeles County Coast, downtown Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley. The high temperatures could make Super Bowl LVI the hottest on record. Super Bowl VII, where Miami beat Washington in 1973, currently holds that title, according to records from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That year, it was 84 degrees at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Source: https://www.wsj.com/articles/super-bowl-2022-could-be-hottest-on-record-11644444587 Oof. Almost 90 (over 32° C) in February?
