Dojo 19,365 Posted February 10, 2022 Share Posted February 10, 2022 Campaigning for an oscar is 80% the job they explain it very good in this video. that year that horrible dude Weinstein had 3 movies and 3 actresses competing against each other, he decided to focus on Nicole Kidman (she won) funny thing is that Salma still sneak into the best actress nominations solely because her acting in the movie was THAT GOOD but she later admitted that the studio and Weinstein did NOTHING for her and she had to do all the campaign on her own, as much as she could with no other support. tells you a lot about the industry huh? and this was almost 20 years ago, i'm sure things are more complicated now with social media culture. I don't think he finds awards worthless, it's just that they are not the ultimate benchmark by which artists should judge their and each other's performances. Not for her oscar campaign lol. Jessica probably campaigned the hardest and secured herself a nomination. She practically had nothing going on in her favour. Critical and commercial flop.
