Another thought: I hope Cher calls her - she knows exactly what this situation is like. I also hope she doesn't stop being her fun self just because some boring pearl clutchers thought she was "too much" on this awards campaign trail. IDK, after years of playing safe, it was nice to see her vibrant personality reappear in interviews again. I also hope she never falls into the trap of doing boring awards bait and continues to choose projects that have the nerve to actually be entertaining, and yet are not dully basic. I think she's really done a great job with choosing ASIB and Gucci, two films that appealed a lot to women and gay men (two under served movie groups), like, there is barely anyone doing movies like this anymore, and I feel this was a key to her gaining new fans in the movie sphere.

I don't think it had anything to do with her awards campaign. She was fantastic in all the interviews and stuff. I just don't think HoG was received well overall, which might've hurt her own chances at getting a nomination.

It’s definitely disappointing because Gaga definitely deserved at least a nomination, but she already has an Oscar for ASIB anyway. Might not be for Best Actress, but she doesn’t really need to prove herself here anymore. There’s still the BAFTA’s and SAG awards.

Aw I was so hyped to see her there. It just feels disappointing because I was so sure of it.

I think what makes me sad is all the pointless hate towards her. We're used to it, but I just still don't get why people can't just be happy for someone without gloating and negativity.

She'll be back

Ok HoG era is officially over now, can we move back to pop Gaga now?

She still has to attend the Critics Choice, SAG and BAFTAs. All of this is during Feb-March so not over yet.

But yes more pop music Gaga pls.

I feel like she'll go to BAFTA...but I could see her snubbing NYFCC. Then again, no matter how nasty some critics are snubbing them (NYFCC is a critics award) is probably not a good idea.

She just can’t snub NYFCC 🥺

Really though that Gaga would get at least a nom, but hey, there are more movies and more roles for her, maybe this wasn't her time.

I posted this on Jan 12 after the SAG noms were announced...

SAG is a labor union. The Academy is more like an exclusive club.

Oscar voters are famously snobbish... I doubt House of Gucci is their movie of choice.

CHER won with her second nomination, but her movie, Moonstruck, was nominated for 6 Oscars, including Best Picture. It's her 7th movie (not including cameos). Her first nomination was for Best Supporting Actress.

The GP likes Gaga. She's a box office draw. She's probably getting lots of offers. Slow and steady wins the race.

It's not all about awards. Do a rom-com, a superhero movie, a mystery thriller... Have some FUN! 🙂
