I know SAG and Bafta nom are very good sign but what if the 1200 actors of Ampas don't take those nominations seriously...I hope I'm just overthinking thses. She's very safe...and this is coming from someone who thought she probably wouldn't get a SAG nomination. I mean, never say never...she could be the rare exception (and I'm sure fans and film twitter would be a mess if a snub happened)...but it's highly doubtful. At this point, she basically has a 95% chance of being nominated. People discuss Critics Choice and the Golden Globes a lot, but the awards bodies that cross over with AMPAS are the Australian Academy and BAFTA. I believe (and I may be wrong) that about half of BAFTA members also vote in the acting categories for the Oscars. BAFTA revamped their rules multiple times, and the most recent rules include the two top vote getters being nominated and then the rest of the nominations are decided upon by a jury. And everyone believes Gaga was one of the two top vote getters. So that indicates A LOT of support from BAFTA voters, and they make up a sizeable amount of AMPAS voters. Moreover, what's telling is BAFTA indicates that Gaga has more support than Kidman, Chastain, Colman, Hudson, and Stewart among UK voters....as none of them were one of the top two vote getters. Which was a surprise, because most thought Colman & Kidman were going to be the "popular choice." People have pointed out on twitter that the Australian Academy often is very good at predicting who gets nominated and this year they nominated Gaga/Kidman/Hudson/Cruz/Stewart.
