Wasn’t sure where to put this as I couldn’t find a thread dedicated to her.

i have been listening to her 1000 Forms Of Fear and This Is Acting albums, flawless! Pop bops and some deeper stuff hidden in there. (Also I’ve noticed they’re both in Dolby Atmos on Apple Music now)

Classics!

1000 Forms of Fear is perfect from start to finish. I like This Is Acting but some of the songs around the second half are hit or miss. Such a different work to her very early stuff but still pretty good.

I haven't listened to a lot of Sia. I would recognise her hits but I only really like Elastic Heart - does she have any other songs with a similar sound?

I can’t think of a single song by her that sounds familiar but these 2 are quite different from her usual sound I’d say

she has a lot of great music but i haven’t been able to listen to her lately because of her gross behavior and words especially around when her film music came out

She's made mistakes but I've personally forgiven her. She's so talented and I grew up listening to Breathe me so much  I'm more a fan of her older music

I think it’s quite clear that Sia is a good decent person who took on a project that was dangerous territory for her personally. You only need to look at the charities and organisations she supports to see she’s got a good heart.

I’m not excusing her poor choices but I really feel like people just hate on whatever everyone else is

Check out Vox Lux OST for some fun electropop songs written by her. The movie may be questionable but the soundtracks slaps :glamourpuss:

yeah the movie is shady and flawed to hell but the soundtrack doesn't reflect on it. it's based on 2009-2012ish pop music so it's pure geepee material. one of the songs is recycled from partynauseous. it's just sia's old music repurposed tbh

And let's not forget the PARTYNAUSEOUS instrumental on Hologram

1000 Forms of Fear is amazing, and This Is Acting is strong too. But after a while everything just sounds like the same song to me, there's very little variation in her songwriting formula. I think it's because, at least for TIA, they were all songs written for other pop artists that were rejected, so they are very homogenous.

Her older stuff is what I truly love. Some People Have Real Problems is a masterpiece. She used to be far more experimental.

I know exactly what you mean but for me those 2 albums in particular are so fun to listen to. There’s a good balance of personal or melancholy stuff mixed with the generic stuff that we’ve come to expect from her (well since Chandelier anyway).

There’s oddly a religious theme that runs through her music too if you happen to pick up on it. I know Sia has suffered with some mental health issues and sometimes venturing to this side can have one turn to religion. I find her interesting!
