3 Canadian Colleges Rip Of Indian Students Up To $30,000 After Bankruptcy

3 Colleges in Quebec have filed for bankruptcy leaving predominantly international students which they mainly targeted (predominantly from India) in the dust

 

Some students payed as much as $30,000 for their courses. The colleges also started displaying financially stressed behaviour when they started demanding quick payments of all fees. Most shifted the blame on pandemic for their financial troubles

 

Several more colleges in Quebec in the investigation were also found to misappropriate funds or have below standard conditions that did not meet the law

 

In the case of the foreign students, many had parents save up for years to study abroad. Now not only will they not get their course, their visa is automatically invalid meaning they legally cant even get jobs

 

Massive protests are being done by students demanding refunds and for the Government to interveane in their behalf

I hope the Government reinburses them at least. They may not be able to do anything about the lost time in studies they now have no credentials for but at least give them their money back

 

Not only is it the right thing to do to guests to ur country that have been wronged by the failure of ur system but also it sends a bad message internationally that Canada is not a good or reliable place to come study.

 

A reinbursement would at least help reduce that damage to reputation if only partially

 

$30,000 X 2,000 is $60M but really it would be way less than that considering the majority probably did not pay the upper end of the range. Seems like a small price to pay considering

Quebec has always been a little more reserved and less enthused with immigrants and foreigners than the rest of Canada for some reason so hopefully they dont brush this off and make setting this right a priority

 

Tho im sure the Quebec Government isnt happy about this, do they care so deeply to take time and prioritize rectifying this situation as a priority? That i dont know

 

I bet Trudeau would cuz hes so pro immigration, good relations with foreigners and making ppl feel welcome to Canada etc but stuff like this is seen more as Provincial matters not Federal so
