Thank you for this - I truly can't imagine cancelling Kim over the Dr. Luke situation without even giving it some thought, and acknowledging that her trans-ness probably had a huge part to do with her decision. You can't deny his talent and skill, and tbh if she's using him to spread the queer agenda, and for more trans or queer artists to emerge, I'm ok with that. It's not favorable, but it's not cancel-worthy imo.

It also gets a little sexist that people are constantly dragging, Doja, Sweetie and Kim for working with Dr. Luke, when as women, it's harder for them to be taken seriously and have a successful career as compared to male artists. I think back to both Ariana and Taylor talking about the need for women to constantly reinvent to feed the fans and the GP, and how taxing that is, physically and mentally. They're ripped apart their weight, beauty, talent, and sexuality constantly, while demanding more more more in tandem. Male artists don't deal with the same scrutiny - it's unfair, period.

And the situation between Doja and Kim is definitely not the same - Doja is a cisgender American woman with a massive built-in fanbase and several Top Ten hits. Kim is trans, European still trying to break out in the American market, with a much smaller fanbase and a dedicated army who pop up in anything and everything written about her to denounce her and bring up Luke.

Doja can afford to talk sh*t about Luke or make any statement she chooses. Kim? Not so much. Which was my point in my original comment... Kim could lose everything with one small misstep or comment against Luke. It's not as easy as everyone seems to think.

My point is, if you're going to name and shame those who work with Luke, name them all. Not just the trans one.

i def feel like the threatment of kim petras is undeserved but i personally don't feel like doja is a dr luke supporter due to openly denouncing him, and not to mention she was like 17 when she signed her record deal + it was before the kesha allegations

also yeah its TERFy, but honestly nothing surprises me anymore on GGD, not racism, not homophobia, not transphobia

i think it could be interpreted as lady gaga makes people gag with how sickening she is or shes saying that her throat/throat game is the GOAT just like lady gaga is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
