Does someone know how many Vegas concerts does Gaga have to fulfil? Per her contract?

I think it’s around 70 shows so she has like 20 left or something (without looking) but I think she’ll expand it once she’s done. She loves it.

Per leaked documents, 2 sets of 36 shows each, 36x2 = 72 shows, OR 3 sets, 36x3 = 108 shows should she choose to exercise her OPTION.

She's done like 44 (?) shows.

It's up to GAGA what she wants to do, not MGM or Live Nation. She calls the shots! Every casino wanted a superstar and she could have signed with Caesars back in 2017. She was in Vegas before Adele and Katy!

There's no requirement for her to do xx shows every xx months. She did 9 jazz shows in Oct 2021 to promote Love For Sale. She'll do 9 jazz shows in April 2022. It's up to her. She can tour anytime.

Gaga joined Artist Nation, an artist management company, in 2014. Live Nation owns Artist Nation, Roc Nation, and Ticketmaster, etc. They produced Gaga: Five Foot Two and co-produced A STAR IS BORN, which put Live Nation Productions on the map! She can do whatever she wants.

Look at Adele. She postponed her residency indefinitely at the last minute... and there's not much Caesars and Live Nation could do about it. She's NOT allowed to perform at other casinos (like MGM) in and within 100 miles of Las Vegas, but other than that, she's the boss! 🙂

I think she has evolved past Enigma (creatively)...  it was very much the aesthetic of a different era and I hope her next pop show is a completely different vibe, setlist, and look

I agree, but for a different reason. Enigma was about TRAUMA. She was tortured and went to a "healing place." The show was SAD and ANGRY, much like Chromatica. 😪

On Enigma, Gaga asked the audience to give her the finger, "Tell me to go F*** MYSELF!" She's angry. She's aware that some of her "fans" treated her like an object, not a person. A plastic doll.

She wrote about those "fans" in her song, PLASTIC DOLL. "I am aware, I am a Plastic Doll. Some people in the world believe I belong to them in a box to play with. It hurts." They're worse than the paparazzi.

People don't seem to understand that ALL TRAUMA IS NOT THE SAME. Losing a beloved pet to cancer is not the same as losing a sibling, a parent, or a child! Being fired is not the same as being sexually assaulted by their boss. Hip surgery is not the same as a psychotic break!

It's obvious Gaga's perspective has changed since her psychotic break in late 2017.

NOBODY can force her to do anything she doesn't want to, release new music ahead of schedule, do another live performance, or release more music videos. Not her label, not her manager, not Twitter. And good for her!

On the other hand, she did a FREE online JAZZ concert, complete with viewing parties in multiple cities in Europe and the U.S. The rollout of LFS was pitch perfect. 😍

The lack of tour announcement just gets more and more unacceptable.

I respectfully disagree. What's the point of announcing new dates then having to cancel or postpone at the LAST MINUTE??

A stadium tour is not a Vegas residency. It's not just Vegas or the U.S. either. What about Canada, France and the UK?? It wouldn't make sense for her to do 4 or 5 concerts in 2022 and the rest in 2023. It's ALL or nothing!

My guess is Gaga and her team are waiting for something to happen, or not happen, BEFORE they make an announcement.

People don't seem to understand that artists like Gaga and Adele are in Vegas or on tour for the MONEY... It's a job for them!

No, they do NOT get paid if they cancel their tour or residency for no reason. COVID-related cancellations are NOT covered by cancellation insurance. Pre-existing or non-disclosed health conditions are not covered. Insurance companies are not in the business of losing money!

Canceling a STADIUM show in a foreign country at the last minute is not fun... for Gaga and Live Nation.

Tickets are refunded. No insurance payouts. They're on the hook for MILLIONS of dollars already spent on venue deposit, stage hands, electricians, power, forklifts, transport trucks, etc.

Not to mention, it can cost up to $750,000 a day to be on the road, whether they're playing a show or not. That's one reason superstars like Taylor and Garth Brooks canceled their stadium tour in 2021. It's not worth the risk!

In any other business, if a customer had paid for an order you can't fulfil, would you just ignore them indefinitely until they eventually demand a refund? No, you'd explain the situation and help manage their expectations.

Of course with covid nothing is certain, but its just very poor etiquette to blatantly ignore the situation for a year and a half. They might not be 100% sure that it will be able to happen, but they of course know if they are intending/planning for it to happen or not (Gaga is an artist after all, is she willing to deliver a Chromatica tour 2 years later?), whereas we are still totally in the dark.

Ultimately it's a very small tour, visiting only 4 countries. It's highly likely that most of the shows will be able to go ahead, and given the number of huge tours other artists have already announced I highly doubt that covid insurance is an issue at this point.

HuffsAhoy

I can easily afford at least two tiers of tickets. But it's the price of flights for the weekend of my 30th that is keeping me from going :mark:

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.
