Lets not ask anything then or have panels I think how much blame he will take for inflation is a perfectly legit topic to debate. The kind of thing CNN would have 4 ppl talking endlessly about in fact about how much it will hurt his chances etc Its really a topic that can go much deeper. Read above From your answer, we can take a few interesting questions that debate the same topic, without being "stupid". They could have asked "how do you think you could have prevented such a high inflation?", or "what are your plans to recover from the inflation that we've seen during your administration?". Asking if inflation was bad for his campaign has no depth for any possible debate and is, therefore, dumb . IDGAF

Asking if inflation was bad for his campaign has no depth for any possible debate and is, therefore, dumb . Well Biden obviously wasnt gonna debate it there in that setting. My point is the fact the topic can be debated tho as to how deep it would affect him makes the question itself not quite as dumb in my opinion as many here are making it out to be The President probably responded like that out of annoyance given the guys history (and clearly ill intentions). But if another reporter asked that question he could of probably gone into it and elaborated on the issue and taken advantage to deflect the blame that shouldnt be layed on him I think whats dumb is the reporter himself and his qualities which makes everyone think "stupid". But the question itself if u think about it isnt that stupid. Yeah the straight answer may seem super obvious on the surface but its a question that comes with a lot of attachments to it that can be disected. I think the President simply didnt because of who the reporter was and also cuz they ran out of time not the question itself

Shaney 5,515
No matter how stupid of a question a reporter asks, no President should be talking like that. It’s so unprofessional. Biden is always condescending and wagging his finger at people and it’s so annoying. I really dislike him

He asked if he thought it would hurt him politically theres a difference Theres a lot going on causing inflation that has nothing to do with Biden but some ppl will still blame him anyway. So questioning how much it will or will not hurt him politically to me sounds like a totally reasonable question It is a joke of a news channel but thats not the pont. Im talking about this particular question (which is what OP is about) not judging the network as a whole It's a moot point though. OBVIOUSLY inflation will factor into the election that's like asking Nixon if the Watergate Scandal would affect the midterms. He's not asking to get the answer, he's asking to make news headlines and to anger the president. Read between the lines, respectfully
imnotyourbabe10 6,120
I don’t love Biden (am a Bernie dude). And as much as this type of stuff is “unprofessional,” it shows me his more human, authentic side. Like, who doesn’t swear? I say this aware 45 was a mess this way—but we didn’t vote for Biden to put on a fake news circus like the “drain the swampers” did for Trump. As long as it isn’t habitual for Joe, I see it as humanizing in a way it was not for 45.

Right, like those saying "My president shouldn't curse, how dare he" um ok, we just had a president with TONS of sexual assault allegations, an actual RECORDING of him saying "grab her by the 🐱, countless unprofessional tweets and clips of him being incredibly offensive. I can literally see CNN have a pannel of 4 or 5 ppl debating this for an entire segment about which ppl would blame him for inflation, which wouldnt, under what circumstances how much will ppl understand the factors such as supply chains, which voters in what states might blame him more etc etc etc He could reply acknowledging the problem then taking advantage to elaborate on the problems and deflect blame he shouldnt take Im not defending the reporter. Im saying theres a lot u could say to a question like this clearly its not that much if a dead end as yall are making it to be. It can have A LOT of dynamics to go into. he was clearly just annoyed tho cuz question period was over and to add to that obviously he doesnt like that reporter either for the reasons that have been discussion. Id be willing to bet if someone else asked the exact same question in better spirit and when time wasnt running out Joe would of commented a fair bit on it So respectfully, i have my reasons for this opinion too

But once in a while, when there's a person who's a real problem, I really don't mind if they accidentally get called a stupid SOB in front of the whole world. Conservative media acts like little children and they frankly don't deserve to be treated with respect all of the time. John McCain was definitely a statesman. He carried himself with class and self discipline, treated people with respect. Here's a short clip of him answering a "question" from the same reporter (Pete Doocy) who is known for being a troll. That's the question. So he wasn't trying to start a discussion or debate. His only intention was to spark "controversy" (like most of Fox news) But perhaps we will just have to agree to disagree, King

His intentions is whats truly creating the negative reaction. Again the question itself can lead to a lot more. Yeah sure its direct but most questions in these conferences are and then the person answering is the one that builds on it or havent u noticed? So yeah well agree to disagree cuz i still think the question itself doesnt have to be useless or empty. But ppl arent taking that point seperately they are clearly still focusing on the reporters intentions which i never disagreed with but that wasnt the point
