Blown Away

I never met the woman, I don't know.

The album is nice to listen to once in a while.

They shipped it, but it got shipped back

It remains my favorite album, ARTPOP is its only competition in my heart :legend:

But where I feel a STRONG emotional connection to ARTPOP, I feel a similar connection to Joanne along with its objective quality :legend:

Same here, Joanne is my number one favorite Gaga album and ARTPOP is a very close number two. I’ve always been more drawn to singer-songwriter music, so the overall sound of Joanne immediately struck a chord with me, but Gaga also taught me how to really appreciate and love electronic music, and ARTPOP really is the album that showed me that the most. Plus the artRAVE was my first Gaga concert, so there’s an unmatched nostalgia there.

The order of the 1st half of the album really threw me off back when it came out in 2016.

I can kind of see Diamond Heart leading up to A-YO, but then Joanne ushers in the most ~melancholic~ mood yet it's followed by John Wayne

That’s fair, I can see how it could feel weird having a melancholic song like Joanne in the midst of the more energetic songs. But I think the track listing is perfect. I feel like Joanne was needed early on in the album to help set the tone of what the album is really all about. I think it’s also important so that the album doesn’t feel disjointed with all the upbeat songs at the start and then all the ballads towards the end. There needs to be that ebb and flow you know?

Inferno

It was not love, however, I know some people genuinely hate it and I don't think its THAT bad. It just wasn't it imo. conceptually sure, love the idea of her diving into her trauma to create something beautiful. Love that she wanted to address her issues with her father etc. But I really don't feel that much of the album expresses like... any of that. The title track is fantastic, I love Diamond Heart and Grigio Girls....but the tracklist and content is all over the place. Idk, it just didn't make a very singular strong statement. It was trying to be too much for too many and ended up being middling imo. I still enjoy songs from it though.
