Some people can’t take the vaccine due to medications and other health problems.

This is such a boring reasoning. 🙄🙄🙄

People are not stupid. With health plan or discussion like this, these group of people are already always not part of equation. Because we already know that. As whatever policy it is will only affecting people who can get vaccinated but refusing to.  Not sure why it's always brought up every damn time after the fact. :ladyhaha:

It's really not. We are humans not lab rats that are forced to do what the government says. Our human rights are getting worse day by day. Hopefully my country doesn't implement a dumb rule like this.

I'm sure those who can't take the vaccine for medical reasons are excluded from this. If you had such a bad reaction to the vaccine, imagine your reaction to the full virus.

Thank you both for the clarification.

I only saw this part the first time

"Currently the unvaxxed make up 50% of Quebecs ICU patentions despite being little over 10% of population, Details on the amounts and implementation are still being ironed out"

50% of ALL I ICU patients, including all other types of patients? That’s so ridiculous. If you’re going to be anti-vax, have the decency to stay home when you get sick. You’re stealing care from someone else who truly needs it.

Here in Ontario, Canada, I already pay an income-based health tax surcharge added to my annual income tax return for our Universal Healthcare, about $1,000-$1,500 per annum as I recall.  Presumably, the Province of Quebec can do the same thing as a means of implementation by simply cross-referencing their two existing databases for vaccine records and taxation.  Genius.  Vaccinated and boosted citizens seem increasingly exasperated with the unvaccinated and the length of the pandemic, as our hospitals fill up and risk overrun by the unvaccinated.

To all you people going "Ha! Serves them right, f*cking anti-vaxxers", let me just explain to you what we're going through here in Quebec, which, by the way, has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.

Our prime minister is doing a terrible, TERRIBLE job at managing the healthcare system. The system is not overburdened with sick unvaxxed people, the problem is that thousands of workers are forced to quarantine because they tested positive, even if they only have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic. Even if they're double or even triple vaxxed. The healthcare is severely short-staffed and ineffective, but the prime minister is not doing anything about it. Instead, he places the blame on unvaxxed people, we've been persecuted for months now, and it's worse than ever. The vaccine passport was implemented 4 months ago, we haven't been able to go to the restaurant, gyms, theatre, etc. Clearly we're not the ones infecting other people. The government and media are painting us as evil people, when all we're doing is stay home. I even work from home, I hardly see anyone. I'm not a threat to anyone. And yet, I'm gonna have to pay a health tax because our f*cking prime minister is too proud to admit he's been doing a sh*t job and he needs a scapegoat to distract people. People are depressed, angry and this place has become unlivable.

So don't talk about stuff you don't know about. We have the strictest sanitary measures on the continent (vaccine passport, curfew, and now this), and yet things are still out of control. We're living in hell here.

The way you outed yourself as an antivaxxer :ladyhaha:

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

Good, you want to be a public health risk then that's your choice and you have to deal with the consequences.

I love how antivaxxers are acting like they are victims when (aside from medical exemptions) they are actively choosing to prolong the pandemic and risk other peoples health. It might seem harsh but getting through this is a group effort and by not getting vaccinated you're pushing back against everybody's hard work.

Meat eaters should pay this if the unvaccinated have to.

100% agree. There are plenty of studies and science saying a plant-based diet is optimal for human health, and also that animal agriculture is extremely destructive to the earth - highly likely to contribute to a future pandemic/antibiotic resistance.

For the record, I’ve been vaxxdd. But it’s mildly infuriating when people are screaming “trust the science!!” re: covid, and blanking when I say “so are you going to stop/drastically reduce meat/animal intake to do your part for the global good, the global health? Because we gotta trust the science, right?”

If we are penalised for “being selfish” by not taking a vaccine which has questionable efficacy, then why aren’t we penalised for meat/dairy? And why aren’t we trusting the science on that big issue also? Or is it just more convenient to be selective with what science we trust?

If meat was banned, people would be truly shooketh. They would go on about how it’s their choice, it’s their body, they choose what they eat… sorry tho, it’s contributing to a lot of bad stuff so it’s banned now.

I acknowledge there’s a toxic group of people who are antivaxxx, and who are also spewing crazy and unbelievable theories — this isn’t helpful to anyone.
But there’s a large chunk of people who are cautious, hygienic and respectful, who take care of their health and listen to their intuition. And now they’re shunned from society, even though some of them just want to wait for some more long-term studies about the V. And are they really so bad for that? Hell, we now see that the V doesn’t stop you from catching or transmitting it… and remember, not everyone who catches Covid will have to go to the hospital.

It’s really crazy to see all of the anti-vax hate everywhere. The world has become even more surreal in these last two years. I know there will be a ton of people who disagree with my opinion, and that’s OK :flop:  thanks for reading!

I'm raising a slight counterpoint to this for an awareness reason. I've lived with vegans and long had a flexitarian diet myself when I was a student (meat is rightfully expensive!). So I fully see the benefits and the alternatives available to meat-free diets.

I have reactive hypoglycemia, a metabolic disorder that causes my blood sugar to spike and then bomb within hours of eating carbs. This puts my health in danger, as sugar spikes obviously cause long-term heart and liver damage, and sugar lows could cause me to pass out or even enter a coma. This is genetic and runs through my family.

My doctor recommends I restrict my carb intake and increase my protein and fat consumption.

Both have a minimal effect on my sugars and keep me healthy. The problem with vegetarian/vegan diets in my case is that nearly all plant-based protein contain moderately high levels of carbohydrates and annoyingly cause me to spike and crash (except tofu, which is great). Grains, root vegetables, beans, bread, rice etc are all problematic.

So most of my meals involve some sort of meat, fish, egg, dairy or animal product with plenty of low-carb vegetables like zucchini.

Ironically, eating meat and animal products has made me (and certain other people) healthier than relying on plant-based alternatives. That being said, I make sure I avoid processed meats as much as possible, and I do think people overeat meat when they don't need to.

So I think that's where vaccines and dietary habits are different because vaccines tend to be blanket solutions whereas diets are highly personalized to a person's biology.

But I totally agree with you on the hypocrisy of it all. I'm 100% for vaccines but shaming anti-vaxxers only adds to their crazy conspiracy theories and pushes them away further.

The problem with woke culture is socitety focuses extremely hard on a handful of trendy social issues to talk about to the point that  especially celebs are put under a microscope to be draged and cancel if they so much as say something about that topic with poorly chosen wording...

Meanwhile that exagerated attention to a select few social issues means other serious or moral issues get virtually no attention at all whats so ever
