Many jurisdictions (including mine) tax the sh*t out of tabacco and alcohol due to health impacts they dont take away ur freedom to drink or smoke u technically still can. But that freedom comes with a price tag since ur choices are potentially costly to society this to me seems simmilar. Anybody who is still not vaxxed (and doesn't have valid medical reasons, such as an actual allergy or a super rare immune deficiancy or wasn't give the opportunity because the capitalist overlord countries hogged all the vaccines for themselves) despite everything we know about covid AND the vaccines should have to pay the price of the actual economic damage they cause their society. My understanding, patience and empathy has run dry a long time ago. These people are clogging up hospital capacities out of sheer recklessness, egoism and refusal to admit any fault in their personal ideology, and by extension are causing people to DIE from preventable and treatable diseases by taking away the resources. If they don't pay, then what? The kind of people that are still unvacced at this stage are definitely the kind of people to just ignore a bill from the government. Tie it to drivers licenses somehow? Making it an actual tax (like part of your income tax) would require federal administration right? Like I said, I fully support mandating vaccines at this point, I just wonder about the logistics.
