Not really, no. Out of all major award shows, the Globes were always considered somewhat of a joke because of all the issues surrounding the HFPA (which is why NBC dropped them).

to be perfectly honest, the Globes are important for their red carpet show and the ceremony where a lot of different celebrities have a chance to win something... it's the least serious acting award.
