That number is underreported. By a LOT. Very difficult to find testing without very long waits. No at home tests available anywhere. Lots of people going untested, assuming they have it, and quarantining to be on the safe side. I’m one of these people. Several people I know are in the same boat. The system’s overwhelmed and understaffed. And I know it’s Omicron because my symptoms are just as it’s described. Similar to a cold but It feels different than any cold I’ve ever had.

The common sentiment in government is that the vaccine is widely available and has been for a long time, so live your life at your own risk. There are problems with this of course, but I can’t say I fully disagree with it.

Biden’s administration has taken a “manage not contain” approach which is similar to what the last guy did. There’s nothing more we can do. The federal government is leaving up to the states to manage how they handle their cases and whether they impose restrictions or mandates.
