She’s very wealthy and has access to things regular people do not. Any other questions? :awkney:

no questions my point being is people are packing a theater to see a movie while we are still in a global pandemic, like make it make sense

(1) The movie is out yet in all regions - its not like people even have legal access to the movie yet. She's a internationally known celebrity

(2) theres a whole pandemic going on, getting tickets isn't the easiest on top of the potential danger to us given the current surges around the globe.  My theater for instance was only selling tickets for viewings at 45% capacity

(1) I understand that; I acknowledge that in my original comment. The movie is still spoiled on social media though, regardless if it came from Kim or not. "Spider-Man" and "No Way Home" or a version of that trends almost every other day on Twitter.

(2) I mean, I'm not gonna argue that because it's a very real reason why people haven't seen the movie. But like I said, there's already tons of spoilers out there, so it's kinda weird that Kim's getting backlash for it. Should she have posted spoilers? No. But like I said, if you're on social media in any capacity, you run the risk of spoilers, regardless if you have the means to see the movie or not.

Maybe I'm old-school, but I would never post or discuss a movie spoiler publicly at the risk of ruining someone's experience. I'd go as far as saying that I hate being spoiled regarding films I didn't even have the intention of watching, because I might want to watch them at some point in the years to come. I think it also tells a lot about how people view cinema nowadays: like a product of mass consumption to be seen and forgotten on opening weekend.

It's definitely not cool to spoil things for people, but let's be realistic here, with a movie as big as NWH, the minute the first screenings end, there's spoilers on social media. The only way to avoid spoilers 100% is to not use social media until you see the movie yourself. Now, that's difficult to do for a lot of people because the movie isn't even released in some regions, but again, realistically, that's not gonna stop people from posting spoilers. People aren't gonna wait 4-6 weeks until after the movie releases to start talking about it social media. So if you are extremely sensitive to that stuff, you either gotta delete socials or be very, very, very cautious about what you consume.

Regarding your point about not getting spoiled for movies you may want to see years down the road, I also think that's incredibly unrealistic. Like, at that point people are gonna openly talk about films without any warning or hesitation whatsoever. Unless you're talking about a more intimate conversation/setting. Like for example, if you and I were having a private conversation and I bring up a movie that you haven't seen and you didn't want spoilers, I obviously wouldn't ruin the film for you, but if you're talking about the general public and social media in general, that ain't happening.

I think that the idea spoilers are completely unavoidable as long as you use social media isn't 100% true: I'm using social media everyday and haven't been spoiled regarding the new Spider-Man film. Probably because I'm not part of social circles involving hardcore Spidey fans who can't contain themselves. I guess it really depends who you are following: my socials aren't the same as yours, or someone else's, and I know which circles to avoid if I don't want to be spoiled. And that's where I think Kim K crossed the line: there really wasn't any logical reason for her to spoil this particular movie, so her posts came with virtually no warning and took people by surprise. That's literally why people are upset.
