i have watched a lot of her interviews and i sense the same that i'm telling you, she was so young to even carry herself as an artist and to have an artistic vision all by herself, i always sense immaturity and that's ok, she's still a teenager, people need to stop being so dramatic when people dislike other artists and have an opinion, it's ok, it doesn't make them automatically haters lol people like some things and others don't, i don't like her as an artist and this doesn't have anything to do with gaga at all

She writes her OWN stuff because she has 50% of contribution in there. They're siblings who make music together at home, no help from others. Not only that but she has directed the music videos for Happier Than Ever, NDA, Lost Cause, Male Fantasy, Everything I Wanted, Your Power, etc. I think doing all of that is pretty impressive for someone who just turned 20 years old.

Even if she didn't put one letter in the writing, these are all her ideas. Beyoncé, Rihanna, Elvis Presley and Tony Bennett didn't write their music either and it's not about that, but what you do with your work.

yes, but she still have big songs handled to her by her brother and her name put on it and other ones where she's not the main writter, i wouldn't consider that writting your own stuff...
and if they don't write their own stuff you can't consider that their own ideas really, but you're correct, you don't need to write your own stuff to be great, it's more about what you do with your work, the way you perform, the type of art you present etc it's just that if you write your own stuff it's more special and a creation by your own.

I feel like this is a never ending discussion. By this logic, that'd mean Gaga's only personal songs are Speechless and You and I because she wrote them all by herself. Does that mean the rest of her discography is not personal or her own because she got help from Mark Ronson, RedOne, Paul Blair, Bloodpop, etc. ? 

There is no way to know how many words Billie wrote but the credits are there, 50% and 50% Billie and Finneas. Even on her documentary you see she has a diary with lyrics, ideas about music videos which she later did (All The Good Girls, Bury A Friend, etc.).

mmm not really more personal, but yes a creation by her own, but now that you compare her with gaga, when watch interviews of her main producers  Redone and Mark Ronson talking about her and the creative process, they say that when it comes with songwriting, gaga always comes up with the ideas, and that it's at least 80% by her in regarding the big songs like shallow, bad romance, poker face etc.
Not the case when i watch finneas talking about the creative process with billie, he always seems to take the credit for it and that Billie helps and stuff, at least the one's that I've watch, i stopped watching things about her a while ago, maybe as you said before things have changed in happier than ever, i don't know about her more recent affords

Yeah I think people need to do more research about the things they've said in interviews and documentaries. Billie has never claimed to be the master of everything she does. Even when she won those Grammys, she always has Finneas there next to her and gives him the credit and acclaim he deserves because they started this project as siblings and continue to do it because she feels comfortable working with him and he knows her sound and voice.

yes that's right, she doesn't seem to claim a lot of credit for it either, so it's more about the perception of her, and for me if it's your brother of just a producer that's your friend doesn't make any difference, i just hope that she tries something else without the help of her brother, that she allow to free herself a little from her family, but if she's happy with her brother it's very good for her and for those who enjoy her songs

both, objetively she doesn't write all of her stuff as you said, and i have no proof that finneas writes most of her songs but i didn't made up that because i'm a hater, but because the way i've heard him talk before about the creative process, as anderson said, we couldn't know who came up with what amount of lines in a song unless they reveal it, one could only assume by the things he says, anyway, it's honestly tiring when people are reduced as haters just because they have a negative opinion about an artist.

Honestly I thought her documentary was interesting. It's weird how successful she was before she was even famous and it was neat seeing her hectic life leading up to her debut. 

Also just saw James Bond last night and her song was a bop. It would be awesome for her if she won these awards!
