It’s more than all the other dramas released this year...combined. You can do the math now :applause:

Well, is doing good, far from making benefits but better than expected. The predictions had it making 100 ww, and it already crossed that mark. Still, it wont make profit from box office alone but, the studio and director are really happy with the box office performance of the movie.

We should also note that Paramount + outbid Netflix for the streaming rights. That is going to be a huge sum in itself.

I am pretty sure it has already made profits even before the 100mil box office. Lots of movies make more money from their budget from selling streaming rights alone.

Good. Gaga really dodged a bullet with this one. I think they can switch the narrative to “Gaga saves House of Gucci” permanently and aim for that oscar.

Ofc it did. People always apply the stupid rule of doubling the budget but forget how much deals a movie can have even before release. With such a low budget and with this cast… it’s a cake walk. Budget is an estimation that doesn’t count the profits. Netflix even buys made movies before being releases. Its not like they are sitting till the movie ends the run in theaters.

It's an absolute bonafide hit.

If there wasn't a pandemic? It'd have made 100 million in the US, another 120 WW. The fact it did this well with very mixed to bad reviews and that dumb disease?

It's really great for Gaga going forward. BO is about numbers for sure, but it's also about perception. Execs now think of Gaga as one of the few actresses that can bring in viewers on her name alone. Puts her in the league as Bullock, JLaw, Emma Stone and few others.

For this type of movie, in the current state of the industry, it's a smash.

This is really good. I was expecting $50 mil cause of the pandemic.

Can someone explain me why studios still release movies in different months across the globe in 2021? :bear:

Some of these countries had long lockdowns and still queueing up movies from earlier this year to be released. PH & JP haven't even got Spider-Man yet until January.

Film journalists are calling it “mid budget” though. For comparison, The Last Duel’s budget is 100 million.

I’m in theatre right now in Italy and all the hog shows are full! Didn’t expect that since the pandemic is growing again
