I even checked Gold Derby forum (those are not to be taken seriously tho). Also someone says Clayton and a bunch of Variety journalists are straight up Gaga stans...and they could be very (sometimes overly) optimistic for Gaga. Meanwhile Gaga raises to NO.2 on Feinberg's updated list, which is a good sign

And in that case, critics are definitely more pro PTA but I feel like SAG/AMPAS voters may lean more towards Spielberg (and Zegler). Alana is giving me Vicky Kreips vibes (critics loved her performance, which was arguably a more complex one than Alanas, but she didn't get an Oscar nom) Scott updated his list today and Gaga is at no.2 behind Kristen. Rachel falls to no.5 but still ahead of Jessica and Alana(no.8). I was so sure about Rachel considering Spielberg's reputation and influence. But her missing the CCA is just too much of a red flag to me. Jessica, on the other hand, has Searchlight campaigning for her, very hard. Also an alarming fact is that both Gaga and Alana's films are MGM/UAR's. Is it normal that the Academy will nominate 2 actresses from the same studio? I haven't checked previous nominations so Im not too sure about it. But it's possible that MGM will pause HoG's campaign resources and pour into LP, which is a movie that will likely receive more nominations other than BA alone. I feel like Searchlight kinda did this by pausing Nightmare Alley's campaign and focus on Jessica's, since NA didn't create too much buzz in general. They can focus on multiple things at the same time. Gaga has a higher chance of being nominated for best actress than the Licorice girl. Also did you see, that movie is being dragged for including a racist joke. I’m not saying that means anything but there are already some articles coming out and the movie has not even been completely released yet.
