I’m scared. I think Donald Trump will win again in 2024.

I just think its way too early to tell anything right now. Its been less than a year into his presidency and a lot can happen in the next 3 years. I'm honestly unsure that Trump will be the nominee again and that another high-profile republican like DeSantis can take the nomination.

In the end Trump is still facing investigations incl. the Jan 6th committee, what happens in that time is unknown. The 2024 race is probably going to be shaped by SCOTUS decisions and what dems do with their remaining time having control of congress.

My dad said the exact same thing a few days ago and I was so triggered from the trauma of the 2016 election

He will or another Republican. Biden was the WORST choice the democrats could have presented out of the top contenders at that time...I cannot believe they pushed so hard for him. It totally backfired.

There is a chip shortage because of covid19 that should ease in 2022. Chip factories are hugely expensive to build and take years to setup, from what I've heard on the news. Shortage in new cars drives up prices in used cars. Car companies chose to reduce order quantities and then found they didn't have enough for demand.(read that somewhere once)

Small compact cars are the cheapest, gas efficient cars. Chevrolet Spark $13,400 new, 33 mpg. Mitsubishi mirage 39 mpg, $15,565 new. 

ps. I'm not recommending those 2 vehicles. I don't drive either one. I had a little bit higher priced car models. Just saying that small cars are usually cheaper and more gas efficient. There are many models of small cars to choose from. I have high expectations for the newer electric models and their trend toward being affordable for everyone.

I think this makes sense.  There is a huge risk of recession by this point and whenever the economy is bad, the president is on the chopping block.  If that happens, Trump is back in.

Anyone who can afford a car, can afford an electric car. I paid $10K for my EV, used, six years ago. Today, you can easily find a used Leaf, or one of several other models, for well under $10K. Never mind the savings in operating costs.

I totally agree with you that at this point Trump would win in 2024. He created a cult like following within the Republican party that still continue to follow him to this day. The few republicans that have stood up to him have been ostracized. Democrats will get complacent and nit picky like they did in 2016 and not show out like they did in 2020 simply because they will have either forgotten how bad things were under Trump or have too much infighting over whether Biden is too progressive or too moderate. I have already resigned myself to the fact that I will be moving to Europe in 2025

Hopeful for democratic socialism in the US, eventually.  But, hey, it’s late stage capitalism with neoliberal management (with a pandemic, no less), and strife across human bio-psycho-social needs, so I’m seeing fascism in 2024. Americans seem to fail to see this, just because it doesn’t look like Hitler or Mussolini.

Hope I’m wrong, of course. But the cult of the individual has superseded the community. 

PS: We could’ve had Bernie..twice! But the neoliberal democrats screwed him.

Well, that's certainly what's happening in this thread. I have to believe that people will act more sensibly when it comes to actually voting.

You know, I voted for Bernie, and I would've chosen Warren, or several others over Biden. But he's kind of won me over. His State of the Union speech was the best I've ever heard, period -- non-stop progressive policy.
