This sounds a bit hypocrite... Only wealthy people should donate? Sure, of course rich people donating is important for the big amount of money, but those of you complaining... Are you donating? Don't come saying you are all poor because you buy Gaga stuff right? If you all complainers donated 5 bucks a month maybe we could change some things. Donating is a very personal thing, so if you think Taylor is not donating enough I hope you are donating something, even if it's just those 5 bucks, cause otherwise you will sound quite despicable

Just because people don't advertise it doesn't mean they're not donating.....In fact, I find it distasteful when people flaunt how much they've donated. Lots of people donate privately without the public knowing. 

As for celeb-connected charity organizations, as already has been stated, sometimes they're sketchy AF and basically just tax write-offs. Taylor Swift doesn't need to attach her name to a charity to actually be donating money.

no, it was exactly and entirely her point, read her whole statement, she was against the mere idea of a free streaming platform without subscription, she felt like it was an "experiment" and all her predictions were completely wrong, so much that she later join spotify again anyway of course because she had no choice, it was on the rise, the complains of the low payment per stream came later and it was first on apple music that she was actively campaigning for because it was spotify competitor, and props to her for fighting for that, but her motivation was cristal clear, still being taylor swift she didn't "felt right" meaning she thought she wasn't doing enough profit with her music in the platform for herself firstly so she took out her catalogue, and then later she spoke about small and indie artists and stuff...

And anyway i think this view on music only from a profitable perspective in a monetary way is bad and wrong, the conversation should be around the potential of music of reaching people, you don't see independent artists talking the way that taylor does, in fact they like spotify because it help them grow a fanbase from all over the world that sustain them as musicians, of course a boost in the payment is fair, but that's not what they use spotify for anyway.

Tidal pays more per stream, but very few people uses that platform, so the payment is very low anyway, spotify ends up helping more actually...

AFAIK she donates more on the low. The last public donation that made the rounds in the pop world was when she supported Kesha’s ongoing legal battles with Dr. Luke — I think she donated like 250k to help Kesha finance everything.

The last thing the world needs is another celebrity charity/foundation. It's better that they donate to an established and well-run organisation than try to start their own.

Even if the celebrity has good intentions, it's usually a mess because the actual work is being done by the wrong people who either don't know how to or don't want to use the money properly. Or the goals are too broad, they don't know what specific issue they want to focus on and nothing ends up being done about anything.

I meant like helping with labels/masters/streaming services. Kesha’s case was rather all about sexual assault and Taylor did the right thing. I know some may argue that it also benefited her because good press or something, but on the other hand she was attacked by people like Demi for it. By the way, this Demi-Taylor thing was so messed up  Taylor helped, but I got Demi’s point that raising awareness is also important.

The rest is really pennies in the bucket, though, for her. She's worth $400 million and to give $15k here and there is really not even close to enough of what she should be doing. I really think the public should pressure her-- that's all it would take.

Its her money at the end of the day, she decides wether to give it to charity or not, with or without public pressure.

What is true is that almost every artist has a foundation helping X or Y cause, Taylor doesnt have one.
