Israel's most lethal weapon is the lies it perpetuates (like being anti-Israel = being anti-semitic), and with the rise of social media news outlets/major platforms have been unable to maintain their lies to the masses. It's very interesting seeing how huge social media platforms censor anti-Israel content, just like the media avoided the huge worldwide protests/outrage in May in regards to the conflict.

I would not be surprised TikTok would do this, TikTok is alleged to be owned by the Chinese goverment through the media conglomerate company Bytedance (alleged by whistleblowers/insider, and CCP tries to deny it). The former COO of Bytedance was also the former the CEO of Tiktok... so very likely that the CCP+ Bytedance meddle with TikTok affairs. What does the CCP do with muslims in their country? We know the answer to that...

There has always been racism against Palestinian content on social media and specially Facebook and Instagram. Back in May, there was mass deletion of Palestinian accounts, pages and content on Facebook. Only recently the company agreed to open an investigation after employees confirmed that Palestinian content is being deleted on purpose.

Ppl these days dont put much thought into each individual situation or circumstance. Isms get thrown very quickly without really analyzing situations

In this case calling out sh*t from actions or a Government doesnt mean ur being anti any people as a whole

No, antisemitism is used as a weapon to silence anyone who challenges the authority of 'Israel' - especially celebrities. I forgot her name, but I believe it was a former Israeli politician (or at least someone who worked there) and she specifically states that the antisemitism 'argument' is a classic tactic used to shame people into submission and to excuse Israel's demonic actions against innocent Palestinians. When it comes to what is happening in Palestine, people are very aware but choose to turn a blind eye. This is not one of the situations you've made mention of.

Yes, it's true, calling out people in power and politicians does not mean people are anti-anything - but division is a war tactic, and Israel (with the help of many complicit governments and people in powerful positions) was able to convince dummies around the world with no claim to their stance that it is antisemitic to question their actions.

I remember reading headlines that the Israeli 'government' contacted the big wigs that run the main social media platforms in May. I would like to say nothing disappoints me, but in reality that does unsettle me. The reach this corrupt group of people has when it comes to media and spreading mass misinformation is deadly, and I wonder when it will ever stop.

We don't want to find ourselves hundreds of years from now talking about the 'war crimes' of Israel and holding 'memorials' for Palestinians, like we do today when recalling all the terror white people spread throughout history.

monstrosity

I'm so furious with social media, they're supposed to be a incredible tool for freedom of speech (so activism by extension) but instead they're a fu***** tool for governments to do propaganda, to rob elections or hide crimes against humanity, it's the ultimate opposite.

social media are way too powerful, they need to be constrained by standards as high as possible with regard to censorship and freedom of speech

funny thing is that in the meantime they don't even bother to delete death threats or actual rape videos lol

I think governments are very aware of the power of social media, as we witnessed with the BLM movement for example. They will do anything in their power now to reduce the influence and reach people like us have to spread the correct message. As a result of social media (and photographic/video evidence) no one trusts the 'news' anymore.

Christ. NO. The Chinese government has nothing to gain from siding with Israel on anything. The state media has ALWAYS been on Palestine's side in this conflict.

And you don't know the answer to jackshit.

So would you say it's the US branch of Tiktok that enforces these bans?

In addition to my previous post, China does have a close economic relationship with Israel in regards to the Belt and Road initiative and the interest in Israel's advanced technologies. After the US, China is Israel's second largest tradepartner, so I could see economic interest instigating this move, even though at the surface level China supports Palestine.

I'm curious what your view is on this.

People really stopped talking about Palestine just like BLM tbh. People used it as a moral thing to say they were “on the right moral side” for their own satisfaction then just kinda tossed it to the side. It’s sad I don’t see many posts about Palestine anymore, it’s just sad.
