FfFfFfFF 58,060
A new facility in the Bay Area is producing lab grown meat on a massive scale, capable of producing an astonishing 400,000 pounds a year, the San Francisco Chronicle reports — though for now, production is capped at a still-impressive 50,000 pounds per year. The lab grown meat industry is only getting started, with new facilities opening up around the world. The benefits are tangible: ending our reliance on raising livestock could have significant effects on greenhouse gas emissions — while still allowing us to enjoy a juicy burger. “It’s not a dream,” Chen told the Chronicle. “It’s not science fiction. It’s reality today.” Source - https://futurism.com/the-byte/california-factory-lab-grown-meat

weed 78,870
As in legitimate meat but not from an animal? So crazy!! So exciting, the future. I expect a while before the mass accepts it ("omg so unnatural! that's weird! not meat! etc etc) but eventually!

I can't speak for the others, but I haven't eaten meat in 11 years and don't plan to ever eat it again. And also wouldn't touch this lol. But I am amazed and excited by these advancements! I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Cultured meat, sometimes called lab-grown, clean, or cultivated meat, is grown in a lab from a few animal cells. It's real meat, but it doesn't require animals to be slaughtered the way traditional meat does. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡

I remember them talking about it years ago, and I believe it's basically cloned cells from real cow muscle tissue. It's supposed to be indistinguishable from real meat and biologically identical. Some other pros for consumers is that it could potentially be more consistent in flavour and texture, creating more high quality meats at a much cheaper price point because of the ease of production vs farming (eventually at least. And if capitalism doesn't get it's hooks in and drive the price up) I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Y'all love to be shady thinking you just said something super smart and accurate when all you do is say cringey sh*t that makes no sense lmao But to answer your question, if the meat has no animal source at all, I'd be down to try it maybe. I've always hated meat even before cutting it off, so I'm not particularly ecstatic about eating it again, but if they can actually create meat with 0 reliance on animals, that's great. Chromatislaps 34,854
This is great, if we can scale this up and decrease the need of livestock, that would be amazing I love the idea of it also being climate friendlier/co2 neutral
