Depends if you mean upbeat in mood or in tempo ...

I think I have cried to Yoü and I sometimes. Maybe the emotion at the later choruses gets to me. It's also the tinkling synths at the end, which always made me think that it was perhaps leaving you with a sense the whole song was actually a wistful recollection of a lost love ... we know it's written about Luc Carl and that they eventually broke up for good. Just adds a beautiful, unexpected tinge at the end.

Tbh I think the only ones I recall making me cry a lot would be Joanne (makes me think of losing my dad) and Dope (I was going through relationship turmoil and the raw regret spoke to me).

for sure a lot of her songs, for me it's really alice recently, i'm in the hole and falling down, so down down, screaming at the top of my lungs, set me free, play me your symphony, i would listen to ANYTHING, take me home or take me to wonderland, but i don't want to be in the hole any longer, please... it's a cry for help, the same thing with fun tonight and 1000 doves.

Sometimes i think how gaga would wreck singing those lyrics live, just like with dope, i mean, they're really so dark and depressing, i think that's part of the reason she passed from singing them live, i think it's too much for her, and she knew it so skipping it was releaving for her
