Taylor is the music industry and Adele is not up to her level.

not sure why everyone is LMAOing you.she currently only has 3 studio albums compared to taylor’s 9 and she’s still pulling massive numbers with 2 re-releases in a row. it’s funny to put them on the same tier. whenever adele swings, she never misses, but she’s only swung 3 times.

No. Just look at Spotify in Germany, Austria, Japan, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Spain or France and you see none of her songs are in the Top 50.

In fact, the only places where she's charting high is the US, Canada, Australia and the UK.

Adele meanwhile (and Gaga, actually) chart in every country in the world.

taylor has sold over 114 million album units worldwide. every album since red (i don’t count the previous) have charted at least top 10 or higher in US, UK, Germany, japan, canada, denmark, etc. where is this notion that she’s “not charting high”? since when is top 10 not high? or is this another instance where ggd moves the goal posts to where top 10 is suddenly a bad position because the poor users absolutely cannot stand when another female artist continues to win and constantly reach new peaks? bitterness is so ugly lol

Not me just realizing Red TV stands for “Taylors Version”. I’ve been waiting for Taylor to become a meteorologist ala Chromatica TV :derpga:

So I'm not the only one...

this comment is hilarious, making the issue about bitterness when it had nothing to do with that :bear:

Also, with just 3 albums Adele has sold more than half of what Taylor has sold worldwide, and that's without even counting the sales records she will be breaking next week. For better or for worse, she is absolutely the best-selling artist of our generation if you count sales per album instead of overall pure sales. This doesn't mean her music is better than Taylor's, it's just a fact that sales-wise, she is the strongest seller of the moment. It also doesn't mean Taylor is a failure, but I don't see why we absolutely need to cling to the false belief she is the most successful musician of the era when it really doesn't matter she's already plenty successful without having to be - the most - ? :laughga:

My God why is it that every Taylor thread on this site these days turns into a Taylor vs Adele comparison. The gays need to give it a rest already. Both are power forces, both have their own lanes, case closed.

because the swifties try to claim she is a bigger sales force when if you look at the numbers adele outsells her by far

@gypsy101 said it all. But also it's only the threads about her sales/records/etc.  Way to overdramatize. :huntyga:

There are things Taylor accomplished that Adele hasn’t and vice versa. Both have had groundbreaking impact on the music industry. Let immature stans spew whatever and ignore it. Why even engage in the argument when there’s no point in it. Ultimately all you’ll do is feed into the narrative of pitting successful women against each other. When instead we could be celebrating both. Literally outside of fan forums, y’all know no one gives a rats ass. Sane people are out there enjoying RED TV and are excited for Adele’s release this weekend. Really if some of you could just enjoy the music instead of bitch about numbers or sales, life would be much nicer.

But it's NOT an album with already released songs when it has a dozen UNRELEASED songs, completely new to the Swifties. Also, it's got 30 songs so 1 fan listening once to Taylor's album gives the album 30 streams, while a normal album by Ariana will get 10-12 streams if listened to once. Taylor clearly inflated her numbers because it would NOT have performed this well if it were just the already known songs.

Here is an article about why albums with more songs get more streams: https://www.rollingstone.com/pro/news/why-are-albums-so-long-right-now-203591/

People need to also see how little of an impact the album has in Europe or South America. She's not that popular outside of America, Australia and the UK.

The original Red Deluxe edition has 19 songs, this TV version has 30. Out of those 11 new tracks, 2 are "covers" of songs she co wrote and singed with another artist  (Babe and Better Man), another song is a charity song she released and wasnt included on any of her albums until now (Ronan) and the other song is the 10 minute version of All Too Well. So, you are telling me she is outselling the industry with just 7 new songs, and yet you dare to say she inflated her numbers.

Even if she is not that famous outside those territories you mention (but she is fighting for the top spot on the Japan 100 and has already secured a top 3 in the mayority of the African territory) she is doing 500k just in USA, Ariana and Gaga do those numbers worlwide, she did that in just one teritory.

Also, you're assuming people are all listening to all 30 songs every time they stream when that's most likely not the case. And it takes three times more time to stream this album than an Ariana album, so Ariana stans can stream just as often if they really wanted to, they just need to listen to the album three times in a row. :bear:
