Salma Hayek would like to have a word with you :what:

And Jared Leto... and Jeremy Irons... and Adam Driver (if we're counting Star Wars as "superhero movies") :bear:

i COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!!

I once watched aquaman and it was like a visual vomit nonsense... They lack creativity and just like to throw random themes like "multiverse" to justify the mess they come up with...

but pop music is manufactured music in the most part, that's just how it is, what is wrong is being judgemental of every pop artist, because there are exceptions time to time when come out artists like gaga with real artistic vision and who doesn't allow other's peoples opinions shape her art.

Thats so true let's be honest, and some superhero movies have exceptions, id say the Batman trilogy especially the dark knight is more than a superhero movie, everyone can watch it and enjoy it without being a fan of batman it's true art, with good plot and themes

SO TRUE

I watched Iron Man or something like that many years ago and went a long time without watching any. Then watched WW recently and they all, quite literally, have the exact same plot, one liners, and are made for brain dead straight guys.

No thanks

Sorry, but no matter how right you think he is, no matter how much we know that that's just his opinion, marvel fans are pretty-ass toxic. Please @vixdean close this thread, let's pretend this never happened, Gaga is working hard on the promotion for this movie, we don't need bad publicity.

He didn't lie :queenga:

It actually reminds me of when I purposefully asked my father 'Dad, are you into superheroes movies and whatnot?' and he instantly replied 'no I'm an adult' :queenga: I SWEAR I INSTANTLY FELT THE SHADE FROM THAT 60+ OLD MAN

I will never understand elitist attitude when it comes to art. Like, judging by my avi and signature, y'all know that I'm a fan of comic book movies, so I will defend them, but I think this conversation extends beyond that. When it comes to music, visual arts, movies, literature, etc., etc., there has always been this elitist attitude of the old guard trying to gatekeep what "is" or "isn't" art. If super hero movies aren't your thing, then that's totally fine, but I think this mindset of trying to invalidate these kinds of movies is so weird.

Like, people talk about "Oh, comic book films are so predictable and they're always the same" and then you go to old-school mafia movies or westerns as if they're also not "predictable" or "always the same"?? Yet those movies are herald as untouchable?? It's always this cycle of bashing the new and praising the old or praising something that you, personally, are fond of while trying to invalidate everything else.

Anyways, producers would kill to have a career like Feige's :vegas:

Also, don't come for super hero movies being "boring" or "formulaic" when 90% of y'all are like "OMG GAGA DO AN ELECTRONIC/DANCE POP ALBUM FOR LG6,7,8,9,10,11,12...!!". People like what they like and that's why franchises like the MCU are so consistent. Btw, it's partly why Eternals got bashed by critics and (some) of the general audience. Y'all want them to do something new, but when they do, y'all trash them for it because "Oh, they're trying to hard," "It's too pretentious," "They should stick to their own lane," etc.

Agree to a T. I am kind of shocked at some of the comments here. Just a couple of months ago, everyone wanted Gaga to land a role in one! Superhero movies are the only genre beloved everywhere. Their ability to spread to every part of the world is insane (similar to pop music). Go to random stores anywhere in the world and you are bound to find Batman and Spiderman toys.

People love to gatekeep movies and say what is considered art and what isn't (again, similar to pop music), and superhero movies never got the credit they deserve for playing and essential role in pop culture. They are referenced in music videos, songs, some even made their way in schools as part of conversation topics.

And to the people saying the scripts are all the same, duh, it's because it's a damn superhero movie. They are campy, rich in special effects and character design. If they stray from that, they lose their charm.

It is ok not to like them, but don't be a **** and say they are trash. Unpopular opinion but I was looking forward to Shang Chi more than HOG.

To finish it off, both ShangChi and Eternals are wonderfully done. They are so inclusive in casting and language that certain people can finally feel represented in a major blockbuster.

Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
