Happy 8th birthday to this criminally underrated and incredible album, I really hope in 2 years time we get to hear those unreleased tracks in time for the 10th anniversary!

Although ARTPOP ranks as four out of six of my favorite Gaga albums, I have grown to appreciate it more over the last two years. When the album hits its high, there are really some incredible songs. But when it's at its lowest, there are some of real stinkers. In retrospect, this era gave us some iconic moments particularly in fashion and the Applause video is still one of her best. The drama and general anti-Gaga rhetoric of the time is one of the main reasons I shunned the album for a long time. Personally, I was battling quite a few demons during its release period and, in a weird way, I seemed to internalize the negativity thrown her way and mesh it with my own struggles. And while I will never buy the claims that it's a ground-breaking, revolutionary, experimental album, I've come to see it really isn't the soulless album I saw it as for so long. There's a small spark of life hidden among the chaos.

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

That's a whole phucking lot of wires...

I think that was part of the vision with ARTPOP; a lot of chaos exploding through her love of rock music and EDM. I always felt like that’s how her mind works; wires and cables that don’t always connect to each other and cross over.

If they celebrated BTW’s 10 year anniversary this year with new material/remixes, we’re definitely getting something in 2 years for ARTPOP.

Well, she did nothing to The Fame and The Fame Monster:toofunny:

I'm okay with songs such as Bad Romance not getting remixed by other artists as an anniversary thing tho

What I like the most about this era is the main idea behind it - to put art into pop culture. I think it defines what gaga really is. She is a popstar, but she knows good art, she is very well educated and every move she does has some clever idea behind it. She truly is a conceptual and post-modernist artist. Her best products are not only the music, but the whole ideas, concepts, visuals...

I'm not having fun tonight.

I’m currently listening. I think this is the first time I’ve listened to Jewels N’ Drugs all the way through since 2013. :bear:
