FfFfFfFF 58,133 Posted November 10, 2021 Share Posted November 10, 2021 A family in Peru who thought they had bought a dog soon realised they had an Andean fox on their hands after it attacked other animals in their area. The Sotelos bought the puppy for $13 (£9.50) from a small shop in the capital, Lima, believing it was a purebred husky. But after a while, they received complaints from neighbours about their so-called dog named Run Run. The canine impostor has since been caught by wildlife officials. Run Run turned out to be an Andean fox, which has thin legs, a bushy tail, a pointed head and prominent ears, but it is more closely related to wolves and jackals than foxes. Officials from the Servicio Nacional Forestal y de Fauna Silvestre (SERFOR) — Peru's national forestry and wildlife authority — are currently searching for the fox so they can move Run Run to a wildlife center. I mean I don't think a fox should be a pet, but they didn't know better. I wonder how the fox did as a pet. Apparently it was eating other people's animals and so they were mad and throwing stones at it. The first pictures of it at the zoo are heartbreaking tho, it looks so sad. Monsters never die. But anyways, even zoo is better than roaming free as it probably isn't equiped for a life in the wild. (It will at least have food there, and have a decently long lifespan). Sadly the place where it was taken is definitely not an animal sanctuary, but yeah a zoo is better than being in the wild since they came to a conclusion that it will not survive there.
