gladly no one was injured but that truly sucks for hardcore ABBA fans, especially people who ordered many different specific variants

Did Adele set fire to that plant to stop Indie musicians like this local Swedish band from producing vinyls?

Sucks because apparently there were only 3 pressing plants and now there's 2, one in Japan and one in the US. Who would've thought the demand of vinyls would increase so much this year. There's Adele, Ed Sheeran, ABBA, Coldplay and Taylor Swift releasing stuff these weeks so I can imagine all of them trying to have them in time.

I'm not sure which version of Voyage were destroyed but there are several others available, Amazon still has a lot for example. I guess it's one of the picture discs from the official website pre-orders.

there are more artists releasing vinyl in next weeks: Rihanna is releasing all her 8 albums on Nov 11, The Weeknd' "The Highlights" on Nov 19,  Michael Jackson: Dangerous on Nov 19, Little Mix - many coloured versions of their greatest hits album on Nov 12, Kylie Minogue's Disco: Guest List Edition on Nov 12 ....

there are more pressing plants: https://vinyl-pressing-plants.com/all-vinyl-pressing-plants-list/countries/
but all are currently battling a shortage of PVC and skilled workers.
There is only 1 lacquer discs factory  (the base for a master plate used to press vinyl records) in the world - MDC based in Japan, that is overwhelmed with orders causing delays to the whole supply chain.
Apollo Masters Corporation, based in US, was destroyed in a fire in 2020 (it was responsible for 70–85% of the industry’s lacquers).
