Should Gaga have met Patrizia Reggiani?

I may be in the minority. I understand Gaga's choice, but I think she should've met her. It's always important to hear her side of the story. She didn't have to believe everything she would say. But I think it would've been important to get into Patrizia's mind to have a more informed perception of the character that Gaga creates in the movie. I really think it was a mistake to not meet her. And yes I know she is a convicted murderer. But it's part of journalism and fact-searching.

It would have been an awkward meeting. Pattycakes would have ranted about all her problems with the production, spewed a bunch of lies, and probably tried to argue with Gaga.

Absolutely not! She's a f*cking murderer, and she's flip-flopped on Gaga portraying her in this film several times already. Inviting her into Gaga's life would be an absolute disaster and this woman would haunt her in the tabloids for years.

She's playing a character based on Patrizia, it's a story based on real life events but it's not a documentary. Actors add their own flare to every character they play, so the idea that she can't play a psycho well without meeting the exact psycho falls really flat.

Nah, I don't think it matters at all. The movie is a dramatization of events not a documentary. And even more, I don't think meeting the Patrizia of today would mean much. It's been so long and her own memories are likely not even factual anymore... I just don't see any benefit

Well she is playing her. Wouldn't be nice to maybe get into her way of thinking and the reasoning behind her actions? Especially with someone like Patrizia she's actually very blunt and has no sense of remorse

I think it would have been a poor idea. Remember what Sister Jude said. 

Plus she already thinks she’s the one who did the murder so I’d say she probably internalized this woman enough without sitting in the same room as her lol.
