Ed Sheeran’s Overpass Graffiti sets course for #1 in the UK

Ed Sheeran is set for Official Chart domination this week following the release of his new album = (Equals), with 3 songs on course to land in the Official Singles Chart Top 10.

The album’s latest single Overpass Graffiti is on track to debut at Number 1 this Friday (November 5), while former chart-toppers Shivers (2) and Bad Habits (5) are in the Top 5.

Adele’s Easy On Me drops to Number 3 after two weeks at the summit.

He's still unstoppable. And he could still have more #1's to come. His duet with Elton John is coming out around Christmas time and will probably hit the top spot. Adele took a huge risk debuting her era so close to his. I predicted she'd struggle to get more than 2 weeks at #1 but I didn't think it would be another Ed song that would knock her down this quickly. Adele surprisingly struggles to get #1's in the UK and I think she's officially reached the point where her fans see no point in buying her singles, they know they'll buy the whole album anyway and a huge portion of her fans are much older and don't download or stream singles at all. In comparison, Ed has a more youthful fanbase who still see the importance of buying singles. It's going to be a riot to see how they battle it out between each other as Christmas approaches.
