A 17 year old teenager was accused of being gay and was attacked by a mob violently. He was saved by an old lady and another young lady who formed a cover around him. Many right-wing politicians in France jumped on this opportunity to pin the behavior on "african" immigrants, and call for end to immigration. However, Marine Le Pen, is one of the few politicians who steered clear of mentioning race or immigration when talking about this, choosing to vow to fight homophobic violence in general, saying that freedom of sexual orientation is guaranteed in France and that "it will have to get into the brains of some, willingly or by force." So common that its become the norm and the people that are causing the behavior unfortunately seem to always be the people that are new to the area. That have been there a while and still haven't integrated or adopted the societal values of their "new" homes And you know what I'm not in the mood for this potential topic but condolences to the victim and congrats to the ones that helped it stop.
