I guess you think Gaga's past her peak then :reductive:

I think when you do Vegas really late into your career it is kinda like a final stop, but Gaga doing that / jazz albums early into her career means she will never actually have a final stop that makes sense, making her own rules :firega:

Also she def hasnt even peaked in my mind, I think shes going to be a huge movie star and then make an album that will be the most successful of all time or some ****, can just feel it

Ok thanks for defending white people wearing cornrows in 2021 sis the bad look’s on you :laughga: Bet it felt good to write that #clapback and get your reactions :nick: But the truth of the matter is that Madonna thinks she’s above these cultural conventions and changes in our generation because she’s white and rich and has a monumental legacy and validation from black people who are close to her. But it doesn’t change that fact that she has CONSISTENTLY throughout her career played a white saviour role that has been widely discussed by POCs as being quite uncomfortable and concerning. And what about my anonymity? Thats the use of the internet. I’m not claiming to be above Madonna of all people whom I greatly admire despite criticising because I know how to separate things, which is something most people here don’t know how to do. I can support her as a woman and praise her for being the trailblazing icon that she is without glorifying everything she does, ESPECIALLY not the problematic ones.

there's a difference between wearing something just because and not knowing anything about the history and the culture of it

and wearing something while being involved in the culture, living in it and having the knowledge about it

not everything is black and white

When Madonna was talking about her broken crown and how she's holding it with her hands and the interviewer said "that's a perfect metaphor for your career"... I mean.. :cryga:

You do have a point, but I find it very hard to believe that white people can go out wearing things that belong to the black community out of pure admiration and without an ounce of entitlement. Madonna is just about the most powerful woman in the world, she hardly has anything to lose from this, as opposed to black people who face actual persecution because of their appearances. It just won’t ever sit right with me, sorry.

she clearly got mad at the Britney question...

Yeah and I don't blame her. It was probably the 250th time she got asked the question before she got to the reporter.

she has nothing to lose, but she has also nothing to gain

the biggest problem with cultural appropriation is that some white people are benefiting from black culture while black people are oppressed for it

madonna has everything already, it doesn't make her any more money, no one gives her any more attention because of it and her intentions are clearly not malicious

so there's no reason to be pressed about it, at least imo

She was asked about Britney a few times at the premiere yesterday. Here's another one:

The question she really seemed to not like was the Vegas one, which is something she said she wouldn't want to to before.
