Since when does rent or anything housing not go up in Canada? Every major party is scary in my book for different reasons Conservatives: - Not serious enough about climate change - a weaker childcare plan which is a big deal - not enough investment plans in critical stuff like healthcare Liberals: - For the most part doing soso but they seem they dont wanna rest until they bankrupt the Nation and put us back to the situation we were in the 1990s. I dont like the idea of mortgagibg our future!!! NDP: - They promise so much we couldnt possibly afford it all in a sustainable way. Some stuff like raising capital gains to make rich pay a fairer share in one thing. Stuff like big Corporate Tax hikes will raise consumer prices (more inflation) and reduce business investment. That eroads wealth generation over the long term Personally id prefer a hybrid platform of the parties. Invest a little more in some key areas and raise the right taxes to pay for it like NDP suggest (but raising that revenue to reduce the size of deficit liberals are running) without going overkill on some taxes like NDP propose. I pretty much been in low income housing all my life, I’ll die this way too since, as you should know, I’m on disability. Can’t do much with ~$1000.00 a month. Well for ppl in ur situation specifically i agree hes the best candidate so i cant blame ppl on disability or very low income to be swayed by his big promisses, makes sense For the general population as a whole tho, i honestly think some of his agressive tax ideas will backfire tbh. Not so much the raising taxes on wealthy individuals (i strongly agree with increase on capital gains tax for example). But im not a big fan of big increases on things like Corporate taxes or other businesses which are not confined only to the wealthy not to mention it hurts our competitiveness internationally.
