I hope so, but I'm concerned..

C2C had the benefit of Gaga and Tony doing promo together on talk shows and stuff. I'm not sure as many people are aware of L4S?

Are they gonna have some promo in places that older people will be aware of? Like morning talk shows or something? Are Tony's fans being reached?

I think it's possible because this time there's the Tony Bennett jazz fans along with the newcomers after Cheek To Cheek, Joanne and A Star Is Born. But of course times have changed and streaming has pretty much killed physical copies so who knows, depends on Drake numbers and whoever else releases these couple of weeks.

Lets be real, it wont debut at #1, Taylor with her vynils will be the winner. She will secure at least 100k sales in vynils and 20-30k with streaming. Then Drake, will do around the same since no one really actually buys his music, but he is a streaming force. And lastly Love For Sale will debut with 100k and probably, a second or third place.

I can see this happening but do people actually buy Drake's music in physical?  idk but I always feel only locals listen to him and that's the kind of people who think CDs are obsolete or don't know what a CD is :billie:

Do we have like a number or something that shows how good he does with physical copies?

I just did some research on Drake's last album, Scorpion. It was released on June 29, 2018. On its third week (July 13, 2018), a physical CD was released. According to Billboard, the CD debuted with 13,000 copies sold in the week ending July 19, while the digital album sold 16,000. I don't think him releasing CDs would be a threat to Gaga & Tony.

However, Scorpion spent its first 6 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard 200. On its fifth week, it sold 145,000 units. Love For Sale will be released on Oct 1st, 2021, which is the fifth week for Certified Lover Boy. Therefore, Love For Sale would have to sell around 145,000 units in order to beat Drake's new album assuming Certified Lover Boy performs as well as Scorpion.

yeah this is 1000000% doable

I genuinely don't think Tswift's vinyls is gonna guarantee her a #1 debut, maybe a top 5 debut, but not #1.

On the vinyls releasing week for Evermore (the week ending June 3), the vinyls sold 102,000 copies with three different versions. They were also heavily discounted (20% on web store). There are only two versions for the Fearless vinyl and no discount yet. I expect less than 100k vinyl sales for Fearless.

However, if Taylor Swift pulled another signed CDs strategy (69,000 copies sold for Evermore), then Love For Sale will probably not snatch number 1.

It’s really a toss-up. I’d be way more afraid of Taylor than Drake. It is only Vinyls but if she releases a single from Red that week it might spark people to start listening to Fearless again. Gaga definitely has a chance but these 3 will prob take the top spots. Unless Rihanna decides that week is the best to release her new album LMAO

Okay first, only 13k CDs? :billie:

And second CLB is not scorpion, I saw people in twitter talking about that this new album doesn't hold the power his last album had, and someone said that his streams went down a 50% the next day or week (i don't remember well) so that won't be a threat for Gaga and Tony, but Taylor will.

I don't think Taylor would release a Red (tv) single the same day as her vinyls I think she wants to get rid of everything Fearless (tv) related before officially starting Red, however I haven't seen signed Fearless CDs yet so she might pull those the same week as the vinyls like she did with evermore.

LMAO October first is the hunger games :ladyhaha: i don't want to be on twitter the day the BB200 is revealed.

It's just a Jazz standards album. The only reason C2C was number 1 lat time was the it was up against Barbra Streisand 2nd week and who ever Kenny Chesney country artist.

Also back then streams didn't contribute to the Bb200 chart and with the new bundle rule limits physical and digital sales.

It's literally a different era in music.
