Ex Little Mix member Jesy Nelson has spent weeks teasing her debut single, started a wall-to-wall promotional campaign and jetted to the States in the hope of kicking off her solo career with a huge splash.

A source said: “Jesy and Nicki were in talks to perform Boyz at the VMAs and Jesy even headed out to the US especially.
“However, Nicki has now dropped out, meaning that idea is now in the bin and Jesy’s big reveal has been pushed back even further.
“The single is still having the final touches put on it and is still hopefully on course to be out later this month.
“But given the delays so far, no one wants to put an exact date on it just in case.

Nicki confirmed she had a spot so it had to be with Jesy.

Normani wasn't the last one to be announced, VMAs announced Ed Sheeran after Normani.  and also Alicia Keys and Ozuna were added after Lorde dropped out. so one of them took Lorde spot not Normani. 

there are rumors Normani knew she will perform at the VMAs some time ago, before Lorde dropped out. Normani told Doja Cat in Italy at Dolce & Gabbana fashion show that they will meet at the VMAs.

Nicki has always been very nice and supportive of Jesy and Little mix.

I didn't even mention Nicki, I was just referring to the fact VMAs aren't gonna invite Jesy as a solo artist when nobody literally knows who she is in America.

Little Mix, not Jesy Nelson. I'm not hating at all, just being realistic. There's no way VMAs would book Jesy Nelson without having released a solo single, especially if they were on the fence about asking Normani to perform who is more known in America.
