One of those movies with a lot of celebs near the end of the year, they are always so bad, so cheap, Im a big fan of Dicaprio and watch anything he does but i'll pass on this one. Why? Cus i dont need to spend 2 hours watching a movie talking bout the end of the world in this day and age, I want something where I escape reality, thank u

I think this is a bad trailer. But I always love Adam McKay movies and there are SO many people in it, so I feel like it will be good!

It's Adam McKay. :bear: He literally churns out Oscar-worthy scripts.

Is it just me or Adam McKay's movies are always hard to understand? At least there needs to be a lot of research beforehand. I was too young to appreciate The Big Short (so much terminology), and I had to also research some political and historical facts before i could watch Vice.

I think The Big Short was a really great movie and im such a fan of my daddy DiCaprio aka my eternal crush, i would literally die for him :fatcat: it such an amazing cast, my dream was to see JLaw and Leo in a movie but yeah this looks kinda meh

Thank you  Adam McKay movies are like critically acclaimed comedies. He got multiple nods for his last two films, both of which had a multi star cast. If it doesn't get Oscar love, I am sure it will be super fun.

I loved his Anchorman movies more than Big Short and Vice. :legend:

His comedies definitely aren't complex (Anchorman, Stepbrothers, etc.) But yeah the "dramedy" ones he does like The Big Short are faster paced. I think it has to do with the fact that they're based on true stories, which require a lot of backstory to really set the stage, but they only have so much screen time for both the backstory and the main story. So they tend to assume the audience probably already has some peripheral knowledge to fill in the blanks, even if that isn't always the case - especially for people who were young when the original events happened. Just my take on it!

Yeah definitely. And being non-American doesn't help either. I mean I've been able to appreciate political dramas before but they usually make things easy to digest whereas McKay, like you said, would keep at a pace like everyone watching was an industry expert or something.
