What’s the obsession with Babylon (Haus Labs)?

Personally, I don’t understand why this fanbases has obsessed over the Haus Labs version of Babylon.  Personally, it’s just not my jam but I love the version on Chromatica.  Please enlighten me as to why you all like this song so much.

(This was not created to hate on anyone who loves the Haus Labs version, I just want to hear other people’s opinions)

Bonkers

It was the first sound from chromatica and people loved it, and that set an expectation that didn't line up with the album version.

Basically, low-key mental illness :vegas:

I agree, I’ve never understood why people went literally feral over it. IMO, the official chromatica version is miles better. Even then, though, the concept of the song itself feels so random and out of place. Even with how much y’all hate on Stupid Love, she’s miles better than any version of Miss Babyl*n :pole:

Like someone said, it was our first taste of Chromatica. Honestly it should’ve been released back in 2019 when it was teased, but I’m glad we got it

I can speak for myself. I love the haus labs version since I first heard it in march 2020. the song sounded really fun and awesome, I instantly fell in love with the vocals and the guitar. when the album version came out I also fell in love with it, but it was impossible to forget the haus version. I love the choir and the new instrumental (the sax tho, an out of this world experience), but the way the haus version's backing vocals make the chorus more melodic is amazing. I was frustrated when the haus labs version came out without any of the things I was most hoping for (I don't care much for the instrumental, my main focus has always been the vocals). but now I'm obsessed with the haus labs released in the remix album. honestly I feel happy with the three versions of Babylon that we have officially received, they are flawless in every way

Mother of Puppies

It's the beat that slaps

Spoiler

but the album version is still my favorite because of the choir, bird noises, sax and piano

I don't know why a lot of people get mad when someone likes the haus labs version. it's equally good as the album version (I think the haus version wouldn't be a good fit at the end of chromatica, but it's far from bad as some try to make it)

Personally I never got super into Babylon on the original album. It was so many people's favorite at release, but it just didn't click with me. I still don't really know why.

But both the Bree remix and the Haus Labs remix -- :deadbanana:

They really brought out the best of the song imo. I get it now, Babylon is so so so good!

A lot of people like what they can’t have. Now that it’s out, they’ll find something new to complain about/beg for. There will always be something new they’ll want.

People are obsessed because it's a good song.

The album version, the Haus Labs version, the Bree Runway and Jimmy Edgar remix, they are all good because the song itself is good. It's quintessential Gaga.

She could release a 20 track EP of just Babylon remixes and there would be queens harassing Bloodpop for the 21st unreleased remix they think they heard once at a bathhouse in Minsk.
