So basically...

so many people are behind on their rental/mortgage payments because of the pandemic that the government has been barring landlords/banks from being able to evict people. It's the only thing keeping literally millions of families from becoming homeless. 

And now nothing is saving those families.

Whats worse is that congress allocated $45 billion+ to pay these banks and landlords with unpaid rents/mortgages to help prevent a crisis once the moratorium expired, but it's up to the states to distribute the funds and most aren't doing anything at all.
