Nobody is “taking” From her. There’s a reason we have courts and legal procedures to respect authors and creations. Being inspired is not the same as copying. They where able to prove it in a court of law.

50% they were denying Hayley 50%. That's crazy and super shady.

This is SUCH a reach. :lmao:

Wow, punk rocks using the same sounds? Groundbreaking.

It's insane how much people want to tear Olivia down by claiming her music is "stolen" or whatever. Jealousy jealousy...

We don't know how involved Olivia was in the process of making this album but the producer had to have been influenced by all of those songs and they do deserve the credit if he thought he'd borrow from here and there without people noticing. Olivia probably doesn't know all those songs because she's only 18

She has writing credits on the whole album  and producer credits on two tracks so

It’s just as much on her as it is her producer.

if anything it reflects even more poorly on her for not knowing where the exact thing she was referencing came from, since she’s she face of the album

please enlighten me to death

Once again, these are all from the same genre of music. Same-genre-songs use the same sounds right? There's your answer. Stop being so jealous and bitter that she's 18, a millionaire, and has multiple hits to her name. :toofunny:

You people are so bitter it's honestly hilarious.

Lmao. You do realize she wrote every single song on her album and there’s only 1-3 people credited max on every song? How did you come to the conclusion that she’s “manufactured” and is a commercial pop product with everything created for her?

Honestly it sounds more similar than other court cases like this. I thought IT WAS Hayley when I first heard this song :lolly:

Flawless

50% is a lot but the chorus sounds exactly the same. deja vu sounds a lot like cruel summer in the bridge too

the scars on my mind are on replay.

To be fair, music does work like that in some way but some artists appreciate it and let it go and some other look up for a way to get the credit (because they do deserve it). And this is just from a quick wikipedia search I did lol.

"Brutal" features a guitar riff identical to that of Elvis Costello's 1978 song "Pump It Up," leading to accusations of plagiarism.[10][11][12] In response, Costello—who cited Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" as inspiration for "Pump It Up"—commented, "This is fine by me ... It's how rock and roll works. You take the broken pieces of another thrill and make a brand new toy. That's what I did."
