From The Fly to Casino Royale: the remakes that outshine the originals

A Star Is Born (2018)

This classic tale of an ingenue whose career is aided by an older man whose own star is fading has been remade no less than three times. Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson’s 1976 rock incarnation might be the best-known version but, most importantly, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s 2018 film has the biggest tunes.

I thought the Judy Garland one was the best-known version?

Anyway, the 1976 version is generally considered the worst so this is still correct.

Off topic here, but…
Remember when Barbra was Michael Jackson’s close friend, which she used to her credit to be invited to things after celeb society was frankly fed UP with her sour diva behavior, and then she turned her back on him as soon as the public did?

Fraudulence. Why the switch ups Barb?

Yeah, the 1976 one was extremely f***ing boring. Some of the songs were ok but there's no need to watch that movie when it's sandwiched between Judy and Gaga's versions.

What comments has made Barbra Streisand about ASIB???

She said she thought it was “the wrong idea.” I am not a huge Barbara Streisand fan, but apparently she isn’t allowed her own opinion. I took what she said more as wishing they had gone a different sound and direction, not that it was a bad film.

Is she talking her own ASIB or Gaga's?
