That’s true. The only reason I said that was because essentially all artists have at least a few demos that they would never let see the light of day, but they were made because either they had to get the song out of their system, or it didn’t turn out the way they imagined. I can’t imagine any artists swallowing their pride to leak something they’re not proud of just to spite their label. 

But I like the way you think. There are some artists who have an amazing and almost superior unreleased catalog that won’t ever see a release, likely to preserve their artistic vision (i.e. Lana Del Rey, Britney Spears, Madonna)
