I just read a few... and had to stop. These are probably the really bad side effects of being rich and famous. This wouldn't happen to a "regular" person. The one's who have more cash than others are always the "bad" ones, even if none of the circumstances are their fault. People just expect people with more money to literally give it all away because they have "enough" - even if they earned it themselves through hard work.

 

Anyways... I think I'm gonna stop reading about this now. I hope he heals on his journey.

I'm not defending Ryan because as I've said before, I don't know enough about the situation to have an opinion, but if he did sign an NDA as I've suggested prior, he may not be able to even publicly clarify that she paid for his medical expenses. Perhaps the best he could do was the clarification post he made yesterday saying he is grateful for the help he has received and isn't blaming anyone. 

That said, I think that there does need to be a limit to what Gaga gives, and she needs to set boundaries with all of her friends/staff/clients. 

I don't think either of them deserve dragging because I don't know the full story. Ryan took a bullet for her dogs and has endured a lot of trauma, but Gaga isn't a never-ending ATM. He deserves whatever healing journey he needs, but that doesn't necessarily imply that she needs to bankroll the whole thing, especially if she's given him a lot of other compensation. 

Her PR person really should come out and make some sort of statement.

True, but no matter what she says she will still be painted as the bad person bc of the way Ryan framed his post. I don't think he's a bad guy. From all accounts he's a great guy and we saw how much he loves those dogs, but this appeal for money was a lot messier than it needed to be. There's ways to work around giving specifics. "thank you to my very generous clients"/"I'm so fortunate not to have the pressure of medical costs" /"I would like to fundraise for this specific part of my journey myself".. It kind of takes the heat off of one specific person to a certain extent. 

And all he has to do is delete negative comments about Gaga. That alone sends a message.

I think this is something Ryan chose to do it on his terms in order to heal and recover and I’m sure as hell Gaga has offered him a lot. People just want to drag her because she’s rich and famous, but people also need to know that shoving chunks of money on someone with metal issues, will also cause so many pressure and anxieties, so just let him do his thing, if they want to donate, thank you, if they think Gaga should pay for it, they can just close the page simple like that.

Yeah it seems a bit off in most parts…makes you wonder sometimes if he’s using his trauma for profit and allowing people to drag Gaga while he turns a blind eye.

My partner lives right down the street from Gaga (near the Zappa house) and is friendly with the dog walker (they often find themselves walking their respective dogs at the same time.)

Gaga definitely paid his bills and a gave him a sizable chunk of change. Partner didn't ask how much or anything, but it was implied that Ryan handsomely awarded. We assumed he was given the 500k reward that Gaga offered to the general public.

My partner thinks he is just grifting. Ryan is a nice guy, but a bit of a flaky crunchy-granola type, who saw the chance to cash in and make **** you money.

It's weird that he'd do this with the obvious intent to make Gaga look back. By all accounts, she's very nice and Ryan only raved about her before and after the incident.

Y'all are seriously so judgement and willing to see the worst in people. I related to his post a lot because I literally gave away hundreds of dollars during the pandemic to various causes and ppl who were struggling while I was unemployed. It's not necessarily a brag or manipulation, it's just being up front with why one might be struggling financially.

Idk the reaction to this has genuinely been so bizarre to me, I am not someone who is overly naive. In general I am sceptical and critical and proud of it, it has landed me in hot water multiple times. But some of the ways people have responded to this genuinely seems so twisted and insane to me. Life is hard, life is especially hard when something traumatic happens, we are not all saving money just in case we get shot in the chest one day. You don't know what therapy he has tried, you don't know what is emotional or medical needs are. These harsh character judgments based on a sliver of a detail feels so out of line to me. 

I have considered leaving this website many times due to general bigotry, ignorance and cruel behaviour. But this is first time it has genuinely been overwhelming. 

I'm not saying anyone should give him money or that he deserves money or that he is a 100% innocent angel, but the total lack of empathy and pure and total willingness to jump on a random person and decide the absolute worst things about their character because they are someone who is struggling is truly shocking.

All i can say with certainty is that if I had hundreds of millions of dollars and somebody got shot walking my dogs, they wouldn't be looking for money on gofundme.  

Other perspectives are valid, and I don't claim to know the whole story, but I would personally make his well being my priority if he was my dog walker and had the means. Of course I remain open minded that he perhaps would have done this no matter what, but that would be so sad I just hope it's not the case.

Yeah, it's good that you did that and it's good for people in general to do that, but context matters. I wouldn't be going around saying I spent almost all of my money "donating to causes and helping family and friends". Like, who talks like that? To me it's the same as giving money to a homeless person while you're recording it, and then upload it to YouTube. It takes away from what is supposed to be the true nature of your help. And then there's the fact he said this while some people were dragging him for putting Gaga under the bus. It doesn't look good to me at all. But then again, I must be misunderstanding something, idk. I'm just talking based on what we have publicly available.
