This is so bad. US government asked OUR Gov to fly out the families through our national airlines from the Airport. Still the deal is in negotiation. We are really in bad position with Rohingya issue, and now this..

Mercy!

Oblivious to history so their only reference for traumatic events is movies. A lot of the films referenced used imagery from historical events like the fall of Saigon (which is visually similar to what we see now)

Nothing mostly. And privilege.

Soft, soothing, and succulent

People are comparing a horrible tragedy to our cultural depiction of an apocalyptic tragedy because they’re visually similar and bring similar feelings of shock and horror

Stop being a sensitive sally

I don't think Americans get to have opinions  about this at all.

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

I think we shouldn't be surprised that people bring up that reference but the people posting it should be aware of it being a stupid, insensitive and incredibly privileged comparison to make.

Yeah, one that is blinded by privilege and bloodshed. If you  could call that an opinion, at least.

Call it whatever. I know that I am right and my conscience is clean. I don't care what an American thinks about the Middle East, of all things.

And before you start yapping about the "internet forum", remember that you are on the same forum, flaunting your blind views around. At least my comments are not stinking with hypocrisy.

Personally, I'm not doing ok- so many conservatives of my country are cheering for Taliban- they are saying, we are next (which is technically impossible right now, but still concerning).

Destination hasn't been reveled yet.

People like you sit here and get outraged at the smallest ****. There are Americans alive today whom are actively, directly complicit and responsible for the horrors of what is going on in Afghanistan and instead of you doing /anything/ to help the people affected by it, instead of you lifting a finger to hold those individuals accountable for the war machine they support and fund, you decide to capitalize off of the moral superiority you can suck from every terrible situation you’ll never face like bone marrow.

That is the epitome of privilege, and far more disgusting than a ****ing movie comparison
