alsemanche 97,808 Posted August 15, 2021 Share Posted August 15, 2021 A fuel tanker has exploded in the village of Tleil in the district of Akkar in the North of Lebanon, leaving at least 20 dead and 79 injured. This comes amid severe fuel shortage, electricity blackout, internet blackout, and extreme financial crisis that is deteriorating on a daily basis. Akkar (the district I live in) is the largest district in Lebanon and one of the poorest and most neglected. Hospitals are already barely operating here due to lack of fuel and power, as well as medical equipment. My brain is still foggy and I'm still processing the news. I'm making this thread for the news but also to ask for donations to the Lebanese Red Cross. Their ambulances are barely operating and they are lacking medical equipment.
