I honestly wish all these girls would step away from Jack. He really is a "jack" of one trade. Lana, Taylor and Lorde all made more exciting music before him. Although these girls have released stand out tracks with Jack, the albums as a whole are just one-note.

Even when he tried to go super-pop for Taylor on Lover...they made her worst record ever.

I was a Lana stan from BTD to L4L...then Jack kind of slowed everything down.

And Lorde's "stoned at the nail salon" is literally every Lana song that's been released the past 3/4 years.

I agree that it's gotten old, but IMO NFR, Melodrama, and Folklore + 1989 are each of those artists best albums.

I would say Folklore is definitely up there for me in terms of Taylor's albums, but 1989 also had major production from Max Martin and I wouldn't attribute it's success and sound to Jack. Even then, I LOVEEE Folklore...but the entire album is one melancholy note which is something that tends to disappoint me from major pop girls. Cardigan is the biggest bop and it's still a ballad (also one of my top 3 Taylor songs). I love the ups and downs of 1989 or Red or Speak Now.

NFR doesn't do it for me like it does the other LDR fans. She peaked at Ultraviolence for me and just got more melancholy with each album after that. Definitely lost her edge and now I don't even listen to her. But if that's what she wants, then that's good for her! I love the songs NFR, Mariners Apartment Complex and Cinnamon Girl but the rest of the songs fall flat.

W/ Lorde, I don't want to judge her best album too soon. She's been around for almost ten years and we have two albums lol. And right now...I'd probably take Pure Heroine despite how much I love Sober and Green Light.

But that’s your opinion, if we go objectively, Jack produced these girls’ most critically acclaimed and significant albums.

It has major Jack Antonoff vibes and clearly has MANY similarities with Lana and Taylor, production-wise. So yes, give him the credit, or rather discredit because most of his production sounds the same nowadays. Anyway, to say she is in Jack's stable is dumb. No producer is able to do ANYTHING memorable unless the vision and voice of a good singer/songwriter mingles with the production lol.

The fact that people will willingly discredit women in music and attribute all their work to a man is just disgusting to say the least. Y'all really ignore everything Lorde does and dump it all on Jack as if he went into the studio, wrote the song, forced her to sing it a certain way, recorded the production, then was nice enough to let her stick her name to it. 

Of course things will start sounding similar when the same producer is working extensively with many artists during a short period of time. But just because some parts of some songs have similarities doesn't mean we get to discredit artists and pretend they have 0 input in their work. Lorde (and Lana and St. Vincent) still write most if not all of their songs, sing on them, work on the production, etc. It's their vision and art to begin with. And this is not to discredit Jack either. He has an influence on the artists he works with and they clearly approve of his work if they're still working with him. It's not like these artists are being forced into having him as producer. The guy is clearly nice to work with and has become a good friend to these artists. Would I love for them to work with other people? Sure. But he's also produced some great work lately that I love (COCC for example, which most people seem to dislike but I really love) so I can't really complain.

But stop attributing these women's art purely to him, it's straight up sexist.

actually no, if you're going to claim that they just redid bad romance, blame gaga for it, productionwise bad romance and judas, for example, are drastically different, they might appear similar just for the songwritting style and structure, and yet they have differences.
