Tarantino mom is proud of him despite he hasn't shared his wealth with her

I think you should cut off toxic people from your life, no matter who they are or how related they are to you. If his mother had a negative influence on his life, then he owes her nothing tbh. Same goes for parents who don't support their gay child. Those people don't need to feel ashamed for wanting to move on from toxic environments.  Good for him honestly.

Eh, to a certain point. You can either sing or you can't.

Why is it only about singing though? There are soooooo many talents that many are naturally gifted with or can be learned from scratch based on interest. Life is not so cut and dry, but generally it’s a REALLY amazing thing when you are supportive and invested in helping your child find success.

Like she literally kept me alive..

I absolutely hate it when people bring up this excuse. Parents don't deserve an award for doing the bare minimum. Keeping children that you consensually brought to this world is the bare minimum.

While I have a good relationship with one of my parents, I can't say the same for the other.

I'm no fan of Tarantino's personality (he gives me bad vibes), if this is true about his mother and he remembers an event so vividly I can't blame him. Some parents expect the world and more from their children when they never extended that curtsey. F*ck 'em.

Out of all the things I noticed in American culture, not respecting authority figures just for being authority figures is one I wish more cultures embraced.

It's not like he didn't give her anything. He helped her out when she needed it. He's just not gonna give her luxurious lifestyle since she didn't support his endeavours. Makes sense from what we know.

REALITY

Yeah, there is no problem with this.

You guys may have your own personal problems with Quentin—which is valid, I don't really like him either—but just because someone's your parent or just because someone is related to you doesn't mean sh*t. Blood ain't thicker than water. What matters is the people who support you and actually care for you. Some of y'all are saying, "It's his mom," "He's petty," etc., but last time I checked, none of y'all are her kids nor have you met her. If this was a one time issue, and she was nothing but the most loving and caring mother in the world, then okay, maybe he overreacted, but we don't know that.

You don't get a free pass just because you're related to someone. Good for him for sticking up for himself and sticking to his word. He's right. Your words and actions have consequences. Children are incredibly impressionable, and sh*t like that sticks with you.

She literally raised him. What are you talking about?

Which isn't his fault. I hate when parents use that as a reason to be a dipsh*t to their children. "I raised you! You should be grateful!". Well, when you choose to have a child, that's the minimum. When you choose to have a child, you're choosing to give up a large portion of your life to them.

Wow. I'm lowkey glad he became so succesfull, he is able to rub it in her face everytime :ladyhaha: Though I think I wouldn't do the same as him, I'd help my parents no matter what, by proving them wrong you would teach them a lesson, and by treating them with the kindness they never treated you, would teach them another one. But I don't have a bad relationship at all with my parents, so I would never know what it feels like, I'm no one to judge.

This made me cry a lil… redemption is possible even when your heart is nearly turned to stone. :bradley:

I agree with this. There just has to be room for forgiveness. And that is the hardest part, in my opinion.

Why are you assuming she wasn't happy to?
