Two more Washington, D.C., police officers died by suicide in the months after defending the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot by Trump supporters, bringing the grim tally of such deaths to four.

One of those cops, 43-year-old Gunther Hashida, was found dead at his home last Thursday, according to a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan (D.C.) Police Department.

The MPD confirmed that another officer from the same department, Kyle deFreytag, died by suicide, and was found July 10.

So far, five police officers have died in connection with the Jan. 6 riot.

Right. I'm glad I wasn't the one to bring it up but yes, so many "suicides" seem weird.

It’s not fishy at all, and I find the conspiratorial insinuation behind that absolutely repulsive. These men are killing themselves because half of the political leaders and a decent chunk of voters are gaslighting the experience of the police. The same political party that “backed the blue” then abandoned, attacked, and spewed volatile insults at them. They have to relive a huge trauma of being mobbed and brutalized by thousands of disgusting people who have yet to realize that they are in a cult that is using them for photo ops and doesn’t actually care about them. Fishy… seriously grow up

Yeah I would defer others to listen to the voicemail that Officer Michael Fanone received last week when they started the hearings. It was by no means loving or friendly and shows how the same people who cry “Back The Blue” pretty much only do that when they’re silencing people of color.
