Disney Responds to Scarlett Johansson

People need to stop bringing up the pandemic.

The pandemic has nothing to do with paying someone the salary that was discussed and what they deserve.

If anything, the pandemic made that more important.

Granted she's a rich as hell individual as it is, it still applies.

This sucks Robert Downey Jr made $20M plus 8 percent from End Games back end points and that was an ensemble cast.  He made around $75 Million.

This movie she is carrying alone the $15M to $20M is a given she probably had a contract that is about 6 to 8 back end points. So she would make about $1 for every $40- $50 the movie makes after her initial $15M - $20M this movie could easily be on the same page to make anywhere from $900M- $1 Billion dollars.

I'm previous reports about her salary she is said to be earning $15M upfront. So those additional $5M are probably already from profit. Which is not alot compared to other actors Marvel movies.

People keep mentioning how much she already made like it matters. This is about a multi billion dollar company screwing a female actress out of tens of millions of dollars and saying, "but the pandemic" while simultaneously making a huge profit off new memberships from Disney+ and premier access.

They are totally robbing her of her money.

If it were Amazon you guys would be digging Bezos's grave right now.

So she probably has a salary and a % of box office considering she is one of the reasons this movie is even a thing, as she canonically made Black Widow within the MCU. Once these movies became really popular, I bet most of the actors got % at box office for their respective solo movies (RDJ, Chris Hemsworth, etc) Once the pandemic hit and they added the streaming option, her % at the box office will be cut by a lot. Which sucks even more considering this is only the SECOND MCU film with a female lead, on top of her being in the other movies for 8 years. So when her reps reach out, trying to get some sort of renegotiation to be fair, they ignore it? Very odd, and a big slap in the face from a company who seems to pride itself on keeping good relations with their big talent (more so Marvel than Disney)

So, it seems they're paying her a % of each purchase on Disney Plus. Why the lawsuit then?

But they never explicitly say that, so I believe probably not. If they did pay her for that I feel like they would have said that. It sounds like she  has some other sort of tie in deal or maybe a DVD rental rate. They try to make it sound like she's made more than enough but if you look at the original WSJ article the difference is $30 million and Disney is dismissing it like it's nothing.

"The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the Covid-19 pandemic"

well then it sould be avaliable on disney plus with no premier access needed, if they care so much about the pandemic effects :jase: they're acting as if they're not making huge amounts of money from that while not paying her as much as they could

I would have preferred on old fashioned theatre release where the film ends up streamable in a couple months on Amazon for $5. This disney viewing will be $30 per movie plus $8 to get disney plus. That's a no for me. I can wait for it to drop down to $5 a view somewhere.
