This is the minimum estimate. So if you move there without new job yet, you at least have to have $12K minimum since you have to save enough money to cover at least three months of living expenses.

Okay at least I know I’m not toooo off with how much. Makes sense.

Also take into account that the $47k figure doesn’t include savings you might want to make. All of that money is expected to go to some type of expense. A roomie will definitely help you save some though.
